I used to own a Radio Controlled car that could do up to 60MPH (real, not scale). That was a fast little monster. I eventually busted the engine and got rid of the car.

There are some very nice racetracks built for these cars. If you like off road or street, you can find some really nice areas to race. The races get pretty intense too.

Here's some sample tracks:

Have you ever tried something like this?

Yeah, twice. My cousin used to race his electrics around and stuff a while back and I just tagged along with him. I think he was trying to get someone to sponsor him but alas! it was not meant to be. :monster:

Loved the dirt tracks though. Speeding a nitro monster track through that thing was awesome. :wacky:

I remember my dad, his brothers, cousins, and my brother all got into RC cars. I was only a teenager back then, so I thought it was rather weird and funny that adults would play with a little "toy car". But I guess it was more than just a toy car. =/ People actually spend TONS of money for these little monsters.

I don't remember them going to a racetrack of any sort, as they tend to just race in our neighborhood back in Cali, in which they would just race in a straight line, so no challenge there.

That's a pretty cool racetrack though. Didn't know that people would go as far as building RC racetracks. =/

Oh man, some people and RC clubs go to great lenghts to recreate real tracks. As for spending money on their toys, yes! The cars can be very expensive and with a selection tires, rims, bodies, suspensions, etc....it all adds up quickly.

Did your family race street cars or off road?
