I'm mopping up quests on Stormblood patch content ahead of embarking on Shadowbringers. I think I've finished most of the key questlines, but I have only just started to chip away at Eureka Anemos.

Preferably without spoiling what happens there to me, is there anything important storywise that I might need to see?

I don't want to mess up the chronology by starting Shadowbringers and certain characters possibly being needed elsewhere. I know the game will force them to move, but in my head I'll know where they were meant to be only I hadn't finished.

The game pretty much deleted all of the Bahamut Coil missions from my game (as far as I can ascertain) when I progressed too far along the MSQ for Heavensward. I can do the coils but only using the duty finder or finding the flowy gateway near Wineport.

I'd hate to miss out on anything huge by not doing Eureka Anemos and instead progressing the MSQ. Now that I'm invested in the story and the characters, I want to see what happens in all of the major questlines. I am also aware, however, that Eureka Anemos looks like it'll take ages since it requires a lot of exploration and a unique levelling system. So if I don't need to, I might not!

What do people with knowledge and experience in this have to say? :polyphemos:

I think it's pretty self contained. I don't remember anything being referenced in ShB. Eureka is more so just a relic quest line.

Because of how grindy it is and how it requires completion of numerous NMs (boss fates) to progress, coupled with the fact that 99.9999999% of people stopped doing it once they got their relic last expansion, I'd be shocked if you were able to get through it now even if you wanted to, honestly. Sadly this is what happens when SE rehashes almost universally hated content for the third time and locks the relic behind it.

I didn't even end up getting my Heavensward relic weapon because it seemed like it would soon be weaker than some of my other weapons, particularly once I started Stormblood. I didn't see the point, unless I've missed something big.

If there isn't anything seriously important related to the story there then I'm happy to leave it. If it might end up being impossible or extremely difficult to do it now anyway then that makes the decision for me too!

I at least know what the true identity of the island is, and that was an interesting development. If that's pretty much the main thing that I'll learn by doing it then I might not be missing much.

Thanks for the advice!

Best thing about Eureka are the unique zones. There are multiple over the course of the questline and they're probably the most beautiful, uniquely designed areas in the game (and when it was new, you had hundreds of people in said zones working together!). Fun to explore and probably utilised better than any other zone to date. Weapons were pretty cool looking too, though I think I'd rank Heavensward relics above them in the end.

Makes me wish SE gave us a reason to ever revisit any of the new areas they give us every expansion instead of just throwing them to the side.
