What is your oppinion on ethical eating, do you agree that if you are going to eat meat that it might aswell have a good life , or do you dissgree and think this is a load of old hoha. oppinions and resons plz

Animals kill other animals, but you don't see people protesting that, do you?
Men have been eating meat for as long as history has been recorded.
Was Jesus a vegitarian? lol.

I don't have a problem with eating meat. Like Rhea said, animals eat other animals. It is simply just nature

And besides, why would it be so horrible to eat an animal but not a poor defenseless plant?

Although I don't eat veal (baby cow? is that the right word for it?) Because I do think it is cruel how they raise them. They basically put them in a box in a dark room and they can hardly move.

I don't care as long as Veggies don't guilt trip you for eating meat.

Remember the almighty Bill Bailey once said: Hitler was a vegetarian, so inextreme cases vegetarianism can lead to mass genocide"

I eat meat too, what i ment was is it ethical to eat anything that has a reconised intelligence and if so do you believe it should have the best of everything or should it just be put on the conveyer belt. A good exampleis chicken do you morally prefer fe range or 'normal'

I totally agree.
Eating babies is wrong. No matter what species it is. lol.

You most be talking about the Ethics of eating meat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethics_of_Eating_Meat

From Wikipedia, the free enciclopedia
While many people have no ethical objections to eating meat, others object to the act of killing and eating an animal and/or the agricultural practices surrounding the production of meat. Reasons for objecting to the practice of killing may include a belief in animal rights, environmental ethics, or an aversion to inflicting pain or harm on other living creatures due to conscience. Many people, while not vegetarians, refuse to eat the flesh of some animals, such as cats, dogs, horses or rabbits, or warm-blooded animals generally. Some people eat only the flesh of animals who have not been mistreated, and abstain from the meat of animals reared in factory farms or from particular products such as foie gras and veal. Others believe that the treatment which animals undergo in the production of meat and animal products obliges them never to eat meat or use animal products, even if this is a considerable inconvenience to them.

Arguments why eating meat is unethical
o Cause least harm
o Animals have feelings and can suffer
o Animals are not treated well
o Sanctity of life
o Damage to the environment
o Religious opposition
You guys may want to give a read to the article as it is neutral, neither defending nor condemning the idea, personally I don’t mind eating the meat of animals and I don’t worry at all about if they suffered or not before being killed.

For me meat is just meat and I’m sure that for most people here too.

To be honest that sounds like a voice that hasnt seen industrial slaughter.
I believe that if im am going to eat meat it has to of been looked after and had a good life and good death by that i mean eating an animal that has seen sunlight and felt the grass, not being pumped full of growth hormone and had most of its skin burnt off by its own excriment. By a good death i mean the animal not feeling pain or worry just being quick and stressless, much like a process which is being intoduced in turkey farming where the birds are slowly put to sleep by an innert gas then slaughted.

Most animals these days are separated though, there are those bred for feeding and those bred for living, people have been eating meat since the beginning of time, think about it ... if you believe in God he used to tell people to slaughter animals for no reason, why is that never questioned, but when someone does it to live it's bad ?

I grew up hunting in Canada and hunting so I don't have a problem eating meat at all. I think that it is entitled to someone and their decision if they want to eat meat, but do NOT tell other people that their opinion is wrong.

I don't see a problem with eating meat. However, I won't eat something that has been given steroids by humans just to fatten them up.
