Right now, there's only one way to get an early hands-on with Final Fantasy XIII: own the Japanese Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. Heck, you can't even go to a gaming convention to get a proper hands-on!

Square Enix is undecided about releasing a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII in the States, but if it does, it won't be available on disc form. Square Enix's Yoshinori Kitase commented, "we are thinking of providing it in a downloadable format," reiterating earlier sentiments. However, don't expect to play a localized version of the PS3 demo. Instead, "if we were to provide the demo overseas, it would be a completely new version." The game has progressed quite a bit since the release of the Japanese demo, meaning Square Enix would be more inclined to show something new ... if they decide on actually making one in the first place.

However, because this isn't set in stone take it with a grain of salt.

Will it possible be for free?
Though, I am pretty sure I know the answer (it is SE after ...)

Still, I may download it if it won't cost too much (if they'll ever make it in the first place).

Chances are if it's made I'd definitely say it'd be free, it would be the first demo (as far as the PS3 goes at least) that you'd have to pay for, I'm not sure about the 360 since they even make you pay for trailers :ahmed:

Really?!
I am just too lazy to connect my PS3 to the net, so I never actually downloaded anything so far...

BTW, I have the white PS3 (which seems to be the Japanese version. even my "OK" button is Circle and not X. I have no idea why I have this version).
Can that be a problem or something?

I'll really appreciate a demo over in Europe as I want to know what it is like / feels like playing it.

Square-Enix owes us that much considering they decided not to release a Dissidia demo for Europe (as far as I know).
