Ok so according to the charecters and the datalog Eidolins are supposed to appear during moments of great despair or rage. Didn't it seem like some of those scenes weren't worthy of that, kind of like a "well we didn't want to put the time into making it a quality story".

For example, Lightnings and Snow's scenes were acceptable. Snow thought he was going to loose Serah forever to the army. Lightning was furious that hope couldn't keep up and look after himself. Sazh was the best,
on the verge of suicide
. Fang's was ok too.
But when Alexander showed up I was like "WTF"! That was stupid. He
wanted to be left behind
so an Eidolin shows up, no no no. I think that the scene in palumpolum when
he let all of his rage and anguish out to kill Snow
That is when Alexander should have appeared.

Vanille's was stupid too. Fang found out that
she had become ragnarok
and vanille was scared and a little nervous. No I think that Hecatonchier should have appeared around the same time as Brynhilder. That would have been the best.

Sure you might say that would make all the summons appear in the first half of the game, but it would have been a lot more in sync with the charecters story.

Thoughts?

Yeah I agree.......some of the reason the eidolons came out were stupid indeed......But Vanille and Hope's are the worst in my opinion. They also come at the wrong time as well (in Gran Pulse)......when you also have the freedom to choose any party, and I don't think probably ANYONE would have Vanille or Hope as there main leader.

Wrong timing indeed.......

I only used Hope's and Vanille's eidolons just once (forgot their names no suprise when you don't use them :wacky:) ......Not that I needed them I just wanted to check them out. Main Eidolons I use is Odin and Bahamuts.......and Light and Fang are the main character of my party like 100% of times.

Honestly, I felt the same. I compare Hope's situation where Alexander is summoned to Sazh's situation. The contrast is just remarkable. The former hardly felt anything like a moment of desperate need at all. I hardly even noticed anything was really happening. All I can recall is that Hope
disappears from the Vallis Media camp for a bit and you track him down and he's sulking
. His and Vanille's moments just seemed so horribly tacked on as though SE momentarily forgot about the fact that they've yet to receive their Eidolons until late into the game.

I suppose this is a case of when storyline and gameplay flow clashes a bit. You are right when you say that Hope could have received Alexander in Palumpolum during
his moment of rage towards Snow
or something, but this sort of idea would mean getting all the Eidolons pretty early on. I myself see no problem with why they shouldn't receive Eidolons earlier on, unless they just felt that they should keep their debuts more sparingly to make things more interesting. Plus in the case of Vanille, if Hecaton were to show up at the same time as Brynhildr, you're left fighting two Eidolons in a very tight space of time, which I suppose was avoided so the player isn't overwhelmed.
