entitled 'the world's end' is due to start shooting this september. it'll be the third of their blood and ice cream trilogy.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

there's not a lot to go on there, but i have absolute faith that it'll be another classic

I thought Paul was their third one? Delighted it wasn't, didn't fit with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead at all

edgar wright wasn't involved with paul at all. he was supposed to direct it originally, but i think the filming of paul clashed with scott pilgrim.

Ah I see, paul matched the cornetto theory though. Apparently they said all their films were based on cornetto flavours. Shaun of the Dead was strawberry, Hot Fuzz was original, so naturally Paul made sense as mint

i heard they came up with the idea for paul while on the shoot for shaun of the dead. simon pegg was sitting around and doodled an alien, and then they started coming up with all kinds of stories and things that would happen to the alien.
