Does anyone else find it a little odd that Edea ordered missile attacks against Trabia Garden before Balamb Garden? It seems to me since students from Balamb Garden were directly involved in her assasination plan, they would take a priority for her revenge. Any thoughts?

:hmmm: Maybe she was testing the Missile Accuracy she was new to the technology being possessed by a witch from the future and all, she wanted to see the effects of an accutae hit on a target and felt Trabia was a perfect target given its similar demensions to Balamb garden?

Its Galbadian Tech Newbie its not reliable! there freakin vehicles are powered by washing machine engines lol

I forgot to say Balamb Garden was the immediate threat to the Sorceress, So rather than risk an Nagative Impact she tested the accuracy on Trabia Garden, also she knew Sqaull was to be " the legendary SeeD destined to face her" how cold she not know that the missiles would miss Balamb Garden.

Wll that simple because this was her first time in the Past, suppsedly, witch meant any actions she took out side of the time line and history she knew of woud have created a sepparate timeline in which she has no knowledge of how things would transpire?

It was an attack against Gardens because they train SeeDs. She couldn't possibly predict that the missile base would be infiltrated and that Balamb would start flying. There was only about 20 minutes between the attacks too.

Because if she had bombed Balamb first... it's totally game over. lol

OK to be serious....

my theory is, maybe, JUST MAYBE, the real Edea, whilst being possessed, she still has some control on her self. Although she is hopelessly watching what Ultimecia is doing through her body, she may be able to struggle to a small extent.

Maybe she just kind of 'forces' the mind of Ultimecia to shoot Trabia first, simply because she founded Balamb Garden and her husband is there. But of course, that's all she can do. So in the end, she couldn't ultimately prevent the one possessing her from sending the missiles to Balamb Garden in the end.

OFF TOPIC:
that brings me to a new question.... to what extent does the real Edea have control over her body when she was being possessed? Could she 'see' what is going on? Her other senses? smell, taste, touch, hear? Or was she completely unconscious? Here's what Edea said after she recovered from the possession:

"Is today a joyous day? Or an odious day?
Where is Ellone!? Have I protected Ellone!?"

"Ultimecia is a very fearful sorceress. Her heart is filled with anger and hate."

"The only thing I could do was... ...Surrender my soul to Ultimecia and lose control of my mind."

I think the above excerpt shows that Edea can do the following while in possessed state:

-doesn't know anything about what happened after she was possessed, as she doesn't even know initially that it was an 'odious day'. And she doesn't know what happened to Ellone either.
-sense emotions of her possessor (unless she's inferring to the emotions when she encountered ultimecia just prior to the possession)
-she completely lost her mind

but still it doesn't tell us whether Edea's own inner emotions could have led to Ultimecia choosing to destroy Trabia Garden first.

It's like even when she lost her mind, she may still have slight influences on the one possessing her. Like Ultimecia using Edea's ice spells (her limit break), and being so lady-like. Oh and she didn't kill Squall and co at the end of disc 1 for some reasons

this discussion is quite deep O_O

This could be merged later on?

Your point about being able to influence Ultmiecia's actions is quite valid.......But wasnt Edea like not using her powers overtly almost like she was denying her being a Sorceress
and that she was able to be taken over by Ultimecia coz she was so weakened?
