Help earth harp

hey i was wondering what the earth harp does/ what its for, i got it and i think u can use it in battle, but i dont wanna waste it and im in the crater fighting movers, nowhere near a save point to test the item. also, where do i trade in the rose(i think its a rose) , in kalm i think?? also is the gold chocobo you get better than the one u breed?

I don't think it can be used in battle though I've never tried. You give it to the man in Kalm in exchange for Master Materia. Even if you already have a set or three of master materia (I did by the time I defeated Emerald Weapon), another set always comes in handy.

You give the earth harp to the guy in calm you give the Guide book too. And he will reward you with the Master Magic, Master Command, and Master Summon. They contain all of the magics in each of there categories. And if you are talking about the Desert Rose, then that gives you a gold chocobo.

And if you are asking if there is something better than the Gold Chocobo then no there isn't.

cool, no i dont have those materias yet, no that i will use them anyway. and nah i wasnt asking if there is something better than gold, i was asking if the gold choco that the man gives you is better than the one you breed yourself.

I don't think you can use the earth harp in battle. Its there mainly to give to the guy in Kalm. The prize is worth it though, Master Magic is 1 materia with all the spells on it, Master Command is 1 materia with all commands except 2x cut, slash all, W-materias (item, magic, summon), and enemy skills, Master summon is 1 materia with all the summons and you can use them as many times as you like in a battle.

Some say the new gold chocobo has slighty better stats then the one you breed.

They're actually pretty handy although not necessary really. xD

And the gold chocobo that I received from the Kalm trader wasn't nearly as good as the one I bred myself.

I don't know if the stats are randomly generated when you receive the chocobo or if their already predetermined though.

I'm pretty sure that the Chocobo's stats are random to an extent, meaning they have their maximums and minimums but a random void in between.
Kind of a weak idea in my opinion. I've been ripped off by a Gold Chocobo before..

Those two items (Desert Rose and Earth Harp) are only used to trade to the man in Kalm though. They have absolutely no other use.

cool, i mean theres no use for the gold chocobo once u get all of the hidden materias, unless you didnt get the 3 materias you can win only in the races. that can take awhile

It does nothing as an item, take it to the Kalm travaler to get the Master summon, Master Command and Master Magic. They allow you to acces all of the materia functions(except for independant) eg. Master summon allows you to summon all monsters infinate times, Magic gives all spells

Same. The one I got was utter crap. It was slower than my black chocobo

that as a reward for killing ruby is shite anyway, time youve DONE them exta bosses chances are you have your own bred anyway
