I know the game is almost out in a few hours, so what are everyones early impressions and how do they like the game so far? I've played about 7 hours of it so far and really starting to get a feel for the game and enjoy it. My super early impressions are in the spoiler section.

Ive played about 7 hours or so... even set an alarm this morning so i could be the first one i the shop to buy it. It is excellent imo, way better than i expected n i had high expectations

Yeah its pretty good so far. I was slightly dissapointed in the start but now its picked up. Hope it stays that way!

Im on disc 2 and im pretty bored, rinse, repeat, rinse repeat, I only get excited when I get a new boss :/

I cant wait to get to disc 3, this strangehold on me is choking me :/

Edit: You got to the part where the weather changes yet? It's damn strange

Not yet, my disc 2 is trippin out. I was thinking this game is gonna be hella long, but disc 1 ended so fast, does that mean the game is small?

No, I think the end of disc 2 and disc 3 is filled with Cut Scenes, which should fill the time.

Just finished Chapter 01, so I'm not very far in, but this is what is buzzing through my mind at the moment:

+ You can tell Uematsu didn't compose the score for this...its absolutely godawful. I'm not an Uematsu diehard fan (I prefer Motoi Sakuraba, but that is neither here nor there, and I also adored Crisis Core's score) but this is...abysmal. The sound quality for this game overall is dreadful. The voice acting makes my ears bleed, and the music gives me a headache...I hope this changes.
+ I want to strangle Lightning and Hope. I adore Sazh; I was expecting him to be a very "meh" character, but he's surprised me by being quite amusing and having the most tolerable voice of the lot. Still making my mind up about Snow and Vanille. Snow doesn't seem too bad, but his stereotypical hero persona bothers me, and Vanille...she's the hyper girl. I've always liked the hyper girls, so I'm waiting to see how she'll turn out. No opinion yet on Fang, because, of course, I haven't seen her yet. XD
+ VERY pretty, but...did I see loading spikes in the cutscenes? I believe I did...hrmn...
+ Battle system looks solid, if somewhat repetetive at the moment, although I know it'll pick up as I progress. Although, really, its just a standard FF battle system like we've been getting for the last few years. The characters just dance around a lot more. Obviously it'll get added to, but...still the same system, when broken down.
+ I like the overall presentation. The text is quite easy to read on my TV, things are catergorized very neatly in the menu screens, and things are pretty easy to navigate. Although I do wish they'd ordered monsters alphabetically, instead of by groups...its a minor nuisance, though.

I like picking holes in everything, but I am enjoying this game quite a bit. Repetetive combat and this supposed linearity (The map goes in a straight line! Oh noes!!111!) don't bother me at all, and it IS very pretty. I look forward to carrying on with it...in about ten minutes. XD

You get VERY close to them, I hated them but now they're my faves

I was at the shop for about 9:20am!! And paid £20 for it with the hardback guide as I traded alot of stuff in for it :-) Bargin!!

Im only about an hour in, thought Id give my 360 a break for awhile, its getting pretty warm :/

So far though I do love it, I almost shead tears with whats happening, such a good emotional storyline going on. Oh and I love Sazh!! He has become my top fav character, I couldnt help but lark everytime he opens hus mouth. Hope mother is stunning, just beautiful. And of course Vanille is adorable, she reminds me of Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. A cute, sparkly little personality.

The battle system is out of this world, one of the best Ive seen in an RPG for a long time. Im depending too much on auto battle, may be a bad thing if I continue to do so. And I missed the iron bangle for Lighting!!! Grr. Plus the start reminds me alot of FFVII, defo. Plus you can see elements of X in there with the designs on some of the clothing.

Love it so far :-)

Yeah, the starting story is VERY similiar to FFVII which I love and the battle system makes it all that better, I love the summon system too, its amazing.

I haven't played it, but I've been watching Damon play it. From what I've seen so far, it triumphs greatly over XII. The storyline's a tad confusing to me, but I'll probably understand it more when I play it. So far, so good.

I went to the midnight release for this game, second guy in line haha. so worth it :D :D
i like this new ATB, its definitely a lot more involved than the older version

I was kinda bummed that there were no levels :-( I also wish the characters were a little cooler, they pale somewhat in comparison to previous characters of past FF's. Apart from that the game is great so far. Great battle system, and the gague thingy is interesting. Still slightly confused about the Crystalisum. The story is starting to pick up.

I picked it up this morning and have only gotten to play it for 30 minutes (cursed work). The Graphics are amazing. I was kinda disappointed that the title screen music didn't have any hint of the usual Final Fantasy title music. I know they always tweak it, but it seems like it was changed completely. Very minor though, still awesome so far.

The music is crap in all honesty, kinda feels like a let down.

So in otherwords, it's a good thing I'm not planning on buying the 4 disc soundtrack. I haven't played enough to really judge the music yet. Just enough to know that they changed the underlying theme to the music from previous games.
