-=Dungeon Crawlers' Club=-

= A Role-Playing Club =

Welcome to the Dungeon Crawlers' Club. As stated, this is intended to be a role-playing club. However, if you wish to get into your own group and scour across the RPG Inferno, feel free. Just make a post (or PM me, whichever is easier) of your finds and accomplishments.

So, what will we do in this club? Well, we don't just 'dungeon crawl', as the name states. We're more of...treasure hunters. We search various dungeons, ruins, castles, and forgotten cities for ancient artifacts. The artifacts we are asked to find will be given to a group of scholars for further study. They are willing to pay a hefty price for these artifacts once we return with them. However, we must keep in mind that we are not the only ones searching for these artifacts...

Searching for these artifacts aren't restricted to humans, mind you. Even werewolves, vampires, elementals, demons, and various other creatures have been seen digging up treasure for coin. If you wish to make up a class for your character, feel free. I will add it as you join.

So what do you say? Will you come along across foreign lands to find rare and unusual treasures?

*Shenorai walked into the usual hangout for the crew: an inn/pub combination which was quite popular for travelers. She approaches her fellow members, a small scroll in hand and a smirk on her face.*

Glad to see you guys could make it. The local squires have already asked for something to be 'retrieved' for them.

*She opens the scroll, and skims through it quickly, making sure she has all the details before telling everyone what's up.*

There are some ruins a few miles to the North. Apparently, there's a sort of armlet they wanted us to get for them.

*Shen handed over the scroll to her 'teammates'. Along with the request, there was a detailed illustration of what the armlet should look like. It was designed rather intricately, with vine-like designs stretched across it. There was also a gem that supposedly sat over the back of the hand. The reward written at the bottom was for 400 gold pieces.*

They said this is what it should look like. Apparently, there were some Lamias lurking in the area. That would explain why they want to send us instead.

Manus, having had been fumbling with the scroll, trying to get a proper grasp on it, was slightly startled by Darkswordprince's sudden and decisive reaction. Being not only bewildered by Darkswordprince's intentions, but also as to why the need for stealth was felt to be necessary at this stage of the game, decided to disregard Darkswordprince's actions and continue fumbling with the scroll.

After a few more moments of fumbling he thought it best to just place the scroll down. After all, while not very self conscious by nature, he didn't think it would help the confidence of the other members of the party in him.

After making a few mental notes based on what Shenorai had verbally provided, he sat up slightly in his chair, pulled the black hood from his cloak from his head, revealing his face for the first time that night. He looked as though he had something to say, but instead leaned back into his chair again.

He looked up at Shenorai, and spoke calmly.

"Sounds simple enough."

Welcome welcome. :) And I'm calling Darkswordprince DSP from now on. ;)

~~~~~
Shenorai glanced at DSP as he walked out the door, then looked back at Manus. She gave a shrug and leaned on the chair beside him.
"I guess it could be. Though we should go after DSP before he winds up in some sort of trouble. I dunno about him, but I certainly wouldn't take on monsters by myself."
As a side note, I realize that I'm going to need some extra marks to indicate exactly what action Manus is taking. For now, I will use the following:
*taking action
:Thinking to himself
' ' Whispering
" " Speaking audibly
*Manus slowly lifted himself from his chair and pulled the black cloak back over his head, casting a dark shadow across his face. If one was paying enough attention they might have noticed that the shadow was much to dark to be created from merely blocking the light in the inn. No, instead this kind of darkness came from some magic spell no doubt. Manus glanced around, almost hopeful of catching someone admiring, or at least curious, of the strange darkness created by the hood, for he took much pleasure in watching others notice his skills, however, no one seemed to notice.
As Manus stood he took notice of Arthvader and Kentaro, making a mental note of how they decided to stroll in last minute.*
:I wonder if they always take their work this seriously. If so, we're in big trouble:
Manus picked up the scroll that lay upon the table and handed it back to Shenorai.
"I suppose you're right."
:I hope this DSP isn't going to cause any undue problems for us. The Lamias will provide plenty of that without our help, not to mention any other... things... that may be lurking about, or trying to get their hand on this armlet.
...I wonder if this armlet has any magical traits...:
dps: while waiting for his allies he waches the lamias protect the area with all thier might.
(they don't seem all that tough but i would never take them all on by myself guess i'll wait for now.)
training at a corner beating down the wall in preparation for a battle. also, has no idea what's going on at this point.
*Manus walks away from Shenorai, taking the scroll with him, and heads over toward Arthvader.*
"Calm yourself Arthvader. There will be plenty of time for that later."
*Manus hands the scroll to Arthvader*
"You'll probably want to take a look at this. Quickly, go over it with Kentaro, then talk to Shenorai. She can answer any questions you may have at this point.
...Oh, yes. Glad you could join us."
*Manus then takes his leave and steps outside the inn.*
:It is getting late. If we don't depart soon we shall have to wait until morning. Perhaps I have a bit of time to study:
*Manus pulls an old scroll from his cloak, only this time he does not fumble with it at all. This sort of scroll is something he is very familiar with. As he opens it he feels a sense of comfort for the first time since agreeing to meet for such a journey.
While he has been known to work as a mercenary before, he only resorts to it when absolutely necessary. This would be the first time in his life that he has an ulterior motive in doing so. This time he saw an opportunity to find magical items that haven't been seen since the times of mages of old. And old magic, while rather crude in nature, is known to have been used to create some of the most powerful magical artifacts ever created.
It was Manus' hope that at least one of these artifacts might arise during their mercenary work.
Manus searched over his scroll carefully, studying it intently, while awaiting his companions*
"Hey! Stop trying to break down my wall!" cried out the barkeep in a gruff voice. He didn't really look as intimidating as he sounded, but it is rather annoying to caulk a wall that someone else cracked.
Shenorai gave a chuckle and said to the new people, "I'll be outside. Don't dawdle for too long, now."
Shen pulled her own hood up as she walked out of the inn. There were a few sealed barrels sitting by the door, so Shen pushed herself up onto them and used them as chairs. Her fingers drummed upon her knee as she waited.
