I need some help. My birtday is coming up and I wish to get a Nintendo console but I can't decide which one.

There are so many interesting games on DS. DS is portable and handy.
Nintendo Wii games have incredible graphics. The controllers are wireless. In the games you need to move. I wish to know what Wii Fit is like.

Will you help me out?

Well, you don't need to move in all games for the wii. Some games require very minimal body movement. And if you want to know what the Wii Fit is like, go to a local gamestore to try and get them to describe it to you, explain things etc.

I'd personally go for the DS, even though I have both consoles. I have bought so many awesome games for the DS, or received them as gifts, its really worth the money.

Im planning on buying a ds after christmas, my sister has one and i love it, they look smart and fit in your pocket. I do like the wii but i find myself tiring of it rather quick, i prefer playing video games sitting still as oppose to moving around.
DS is also cheaper id go with the ds.:)

I'm personally very happy with my DS. Along with the DS games available, being able to play my older GBA games on a brighter screen is a real plus for me. And of couse, the transportablity of it is always nice. As well, since you have rechargeable batteries, you could plug it in and play if you wanted to.

I don't have a Wii so I can't say for certain yay or nay on that, but I love my DS :3

No Wii love? :P I own both, the NDS first of course. And while it has it's good things over the Wii, like being portable, and pocket sized, I still say you'll get the most enjoyment out of the Wii and the games it has to offer.

If you plan to get both eventually, I would suggest getting the Nintendo Wii now, and waiting until the newest model of the Nintendo DS, the DSi, is released.

The DSi is already out in Japan I guess, but I doubt you want a Japanese one. >.> So that is my suggestions to you, Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are all great games, and exclusive to the Wii, so I'd say go with that, and get ahold of a copy of Brawl, it is a must have for any Wii owner. :D

Between those two, definately the Wii. Wii has so many more options and many new games are being invented just for it because of what can be done. I suggest the Wii

^ Finally. ^_^ Really, you can't go wrong with either, but Wii has the Wii Shop Channel going for it, you can get some cool stuff and games for the Virtual Console there. :)

Plus, WarioWare: Smooth Moves is fun to rent just to go through the motions the mini games will have you doing. :P I don't own it though, that particular game gets old too fast, but there are several games for it that don't, that one game is just one of the exceptions.

I would say DS, its much easier and you can take it with you anywhere:P I am getting a DS myself so I can pictochat with all my friends:)

A DS. Not only does it have TWEWY, but it's much more fun. Has better games, and like the post above me says, you can take it anywhere.

Ain't got no Virtual Console though... And I still say it is best to wait until DSi is released, it comes with a Opera Browser (for browsing the Internet), and much more, including slightly bigger screens. ;)

Just don't know if you plan to get both eventually, and are just deciding which to get for now, or which to get, period. Both are really good, and you wouldn't regret owning either of them, they both have several very enjoyable games, the Wii of course has much better graphics than the handheld. :P

And you can play it on a far bigger screen, depending on how big the TV is you play video games on.

But DSi is going to be so much better...I already own a Nintendo DS, but I am planning on getting a DSi when it is released here just for the improvements it has. :/

How will it be better?

- It has a poor camera built in
- A rather lousy browser I heard. I thought consoles were meant for gaming, too many consoles seem to want to be multimedia these days, and Nintendo seem to want to follow the crowd.
- It is NOT region free. In some aspect..
- Bigger screens. So....what? IF I have heard right though, both screens will be touch screen, so I guess it is a plus...
- No GBA slot. So, any chance of playing GBA games, goes right out the window.

It's NOT going to be more amazing then the DS. A lot of people are not entirely wowed over by this...DSi, for reasons I've just stated. A lot see these changes as...inefficient reasons to buy them.

It would probably appeal more to some newish gamer, someone who hasn't been playing for years on other consoles.

I really want a Wii, but only for one game, although if I had to choose, Id keep my DS, I love it, it's handy, the games are fun and I think there is just a better variety of games, although, because I dont have a Wii, Ive not really looked tbh....although point is, there's far more games I wanna play o the DS than on a Wii

Bambi, being the lazy bum you are, you'd be well happy with Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports, as it involves exercise games, which don't need you to leave the house :wacky:

I can see the novelty of games like hat wearing off really quickly :wacky:

Brain training sucked me in like that and that soon lost it's appeal, so I avoid games like that now, and the Wii seems to have a scary amount of games that require FAR too much activity :wacky:

Bizzy, please try to make posts that aren't one liners. I was thinking of deleting your posts. Since you have 3 rather short posts. But I have decided to just give you warning. If I see another, it will get deleted and an infraction might be issued.
