Sooo how many of you liked the "Dream" parts of the game where you were with Laguna's crew? Did you like having to switch over your junctioned magic?

Discuss

Nuuu they did my head in. They were ok storywise but I hated the length of them and all the faffing around with the junctions every bloody time. I hate the lunatic pandora! Drags on waaaay to much

I know what you mean. lol.

I think once your party had split and then you had fallen into the "Dream" state.

I chose a weaker party for the fun of it. Bahhh! Not good, Not Good at all. -___-;;

I liked Lagunas limit break but that s all I can say on the matter. I did find it stupid that you had the same junctions as your party in the wakey world.

I haven't played it in ages but I do remember a bit of a hassle in rejunctioning.

The first time I played, the dream sequences were confusing. I kept thinking that Squall and co would meet up with Laguna and co (the young ones).

It wasn't to hard to switch junctions, since Laguna always had Squall's.

Story linewise it was pretty kewl and an interesting way to bring acrooss that part of the story line. But yea the juntioning was a pit crap and they could have been a little shorter. They definetly amused me thou :D

I didn't like it at all. >.> Not that there was anything wrong with the dream sequence. I suppose I just got into the game so much that I became quite impatient whenever it would switch to Laguna's story because I really did wanna see what happened next with Squall, Rinoa, and everyone. The story was just too engrossing for me to even care about Laguna's part.

And I don't think I had any trouble with switching junctions. From what I remember, I didn't play too much with it during the dream part. I probably switched a few things here and there but nothing major, I'm sure - so it wasn't really a hassle at all.

I actually liked the dream sequence a lot. As a matter of fact, I liked Laguna, Kiros, and Ward better than most of the main party characters. It was a huge letdown however, when I later found out that they don't join your party in the end.
What a bummer...

I hated them, they just dragged on and on and on, and really weren't that interesting. And, I was barely interested in Squalls story, let alone another guys.

Actually, I really liked the dream sequences in VIII. Laguna, being an amusing form of comedic relief, was always a nice breath of fresh air compared to Squall and his various problems. I really enjoyed his interactions with Kiros and Ward - they were soo funny! I suppose I'm partial to Laguna, since he is my favorite character afterall. As for the things I didn't like: The junctioning, etc. That was the biggest annoyance for me.

I found some of the dialogue between Laguna and co to be classically funny.

Laguna: You know what the old people always say 'expect the unfamiliar'

Kiros: You mean 'unexpected' don't you?

Ward: You only got the 'un' part right

I didn't really enjoy the lack of save points though!

I liked the dream sequences the first time through, for its comedic value and how unique it all seemed. It was also odd to have an entirely separate part of the game where there were so many pieces to the puzzle missing and all that. On the 2nd - 12th times through (xD) though, they were just monotonous for me.

Oh I agree with the monotony, it was so frustrating at times I used to put off playing it for a while. Like if I knew I was due one Id just turn it off and come back to it another day

I always used to will Laguna & Kiros to run faster in Winhill, the talking parts didn't bother me at all but the whole running around got on my nerves -_-

Heh, yeah. Especially in Winhill and those Ice Cave things (forgot what they were called), I always spent so much time collecting magic and working on GF compatibility, the dream sequences just took a really long time for me. That's probably why my appreciation for them has dwindled some.

No matter what though, I love the dream sequence of the trio going to Deling City. The hotel bits with Julia are just so cuhyute.

Ah yeah, as long winded as that hotel scene was I really like it, but then i preferred the non fighting parts in the dream sequences

I didnt like the one where you had to fight that stupid bloody ruby dragon when Laguna is in that film or whatever it was and he hs that sodding gunblade

I hated that dragon -_-

I really liked some of them, but the Winhill one...I actually pawned the game once instead of playing through Winhill 'cause I didn't know how long it was and it annoyed the hell out of me. How anticlimactic from Squall gettin' the shaft.
However, I played through it once (oh how tedious) and loved the rest of the game. Everything played into the storyline greatly as well.

Ah! The Ruby Dragon dream sequence was funny, and I think that's the first time I used Alexander, which made it that much more epic. You could also get some sort of item that you needed for weapon crafting too, which was always nice.

That's one positive to the dream sequences; the chance to get items you couldn't normally get until way later.
