For anyone who thought the Dragon Quest VIII Slime controller was the ultimate in absurd controller designs, take a look at what Hori has in the works for Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road Victory:
Different from the Slime controller, this one's form actually has some function. As detailed at Vjump staff blog controller mirrors the layout of the arcade Dragon Quest Battle Road control panel, right down to the sizes of the buttons and sword. Similar to the arcade version, you push down on the sword for your special finishing sword attack.
The controller attaches to your Wiimote as an expansion and replaces the game's Classic Controller control scheme.
As you might expect given the intricacy of the device, you're going to have to pay quite a bit to play Victory this way. Hori has set the price for the Dragon Battle Battle Road Controller at ¥12,800.
