Multiple Platforms Dragon Age II

Yeah, I'd say that the only main downside was the same dungeon scenarios over and over again. The rest of it was a huge improvement over origins, and the mage class got the biggest boost out of the 3, IMO.

i agree the repetitive dungeons were a minor drag but all in all i loved the story, pace of the action and the party members minus one :jtc:
and mages did improve by alot being devestating in both long range and close quarters combat :dave:

Who was the one dislike? I think I might a possibility at who it is, but I don't know. :hmmm:

Yeah, that's what I figured. I never played awakening, so I don't have anything to compare him to, but I heard he was better in that one than in 2.

Haha Anders was a bit of a whiner and I wasn't overtly fond of himself. On a similar note I never really warmed to Alistair in Origins either, though at the very least he was funny at times. On my first playthrough I played a 2-handed warrior which was a lot of fun, but I am of a mind to start a new game as a mage to try it out and see how it affects the story. I gave up on the mage class in Origins because I played it on the Xbox 360, but playing Dragon Age 2 on PC should make the class a bit more fun I reckon.

I also forgot to get Fenris the first time around, so that's another thing for me to do.

How do you forget to get him? :| Isn't getting him an actual quest in the story part?

Nope both him and Isabela are entirely optional as far as I've understood. The second I could go on the deep roads expedition I was so tired of doing quests that seemed to be all about the money for the expedition, that I ended up skipping a couple of them and heading out... :gonk:

though i didn't really use fenris cause i am a rouge and so i use aveline cause she is a great tank i love isabella though she adds some of the comedy back into the story though my party took a great dent in its power when
bethany dies really shouldn't have taken her but she was done with the elemental tree and she had the heal tree going for her so i fucked up there
that was a real sad blemish in the story so i was wondering should i use merril or anders cause i need a mage and i'm using anders cause he is good with healing but he doesn't have any real attacks meril has some attacks but can't heal and i don't like wasting my potions when I could save a lot of them

any advice

Well, you could get away with not using Anders, but you just have to stock up on potions every chance you get. And there's also the.........other factor that goes into effect as well.

what other factor?

i did stock up on potions anyway but i'm broke now from the black emporium and updating some of my parties gear though it was mainly with the armor upgrades and buying myself and a few others some better weopons

so i did have to end up using anders to restock on money but i don't see any pro's for merill except on her personal skill tree that doesn't really have as much use to me as anders with regroup and pancea and the skill that heals everything

also romanced with isabella and was wondering if i did that with another female character which might be merril cause she really likes me and I hate aveline cause she goes down as extreme idiot in my books although she is a good tank, anyway if i romanced with merril will it cause the side affect that dragon age origins usually had

Well, that depends. If you have beaten the game, then you know that other factor. If not, then I will not spoil it for you.

Also, upon failed attempt, you can't have a romance with Aveline anyway, even if you do all the romance choices.

As to the final question, you can actually successfully romance with multiple people, which is a plus from origins.

Just started playing this last night and I must say I find it brilliant so far. I do not think I got very far.. right after Merill gets a new home in Kirkwall. I did not play the first Dragon Age but the system is similar to Mass Effect imo. Do you miss out a lot on Dragon age II if you do not pay the first one though? Started as a Mage because I love magic users. I do find that Varic is a cheap character because he totally is kicking everyone's ass whenever I use him and it does not seem like you can remove Bianca.. so it is his signature weapon. Ill try and beat this in the coming week because I have been meaning to start for a bit and I just started yesterday..:hmmm:.

I finished this game a few days ago and must say I didn´t like it that much as I liekd origins.
This game didn´t hurry up, it didn´t have a story o.o at least that´s how I experienced.
Only quests quests and quests, and when I was doing something for the main plot it didn´t give me the feeling I was doing so. So that was a disappointment, also the returning of the dragon age origins characters. Expected something more T.T

I did love the graphics, and the fact that Hawke had a voice. And no awkward love scene xD

I loved Isabella, Fenris and Merril, but the last two ended up hating me.
Anders is annoying with his mage talk, such a disappointment after playing awakening, but he is handsome, so I just gotta keep him in my party, and for the healing of course XD

Thanks to Xbox360Achievements.org, a new piece of DLC for Dragon Age II may have accidently been leaked. The website has posted a set of new achievements for a piece of content suposedly named “Legacy”.

The achievements are as follows:

  • Conductor: Defeat an ancient evil in the Vimmark Mountains. – 30G
  • Deep Roads Safari: Kill a genlock, genlock alpha, hurlock alpha, bronto, and deepstalker in the Vimmark Mountains. – 15G
  • Family Legacy: Apply three effects to Hawke’s Key. – 30G
  • Family Outing: Complete the main quest in the Vimmark Mountains with Bethany or Carver in the party. – 15G
  • Tower Sweeper: Complete every side quest in the Vimmark Mountains prison tower. – 30G
Bioware’s Ray Muzyka has expressed his desire to release more content for the game, and it looks like Legacy could be just the first of many DLC’s if the original game is anything to go off.

Meh, Dragon Age II was not "wow". If they are going to make more DLC, there is a chance I might try it out. Thing about Dragon Age that I do not like is that the DLC does not continue the story like Mass Effect. As far as I know.. Dragon Age I only unlocked little if you started II afterwards. Things like just get new characters by dlc... meh I did not like it enough to be interested.

Work complete on Dragon Age 2, team on “next phase”

Dragon Age’s executive producer Mark Darrah has confirmed that Bioware’s completed post-release work on Dragon Age 2 and the entire team has now moved onto “the next phase of Dragon Age’s future.”

Dragon-Age-2-Hawke.jpg

He announced this news via a forum post on the Bioware site.
“While we will still be keeping an eye out for any issues that might crop up in DA2 and supporting the community should any emergencies should arise, we’re moving the entire team’s focus to the next phase of Dragon Age’s future,” he said.

“You’ve most certainly heard the rumours floating around, and unfortunately I can’t really comment on them. However, what I can say is that we’ve been thinking a lot about Dragon Age – what it means, and where it could go. This past year, we’ve spent a lot of time both going back to the ‘BioWare vault’ of games and re-examining them, and looking at some new possibilities that today’s industry allows.

“Ah, Hawke, I’ve been expecting you.”

He made an appeal to fans to give their feedback about which direction Dragon Age should take.

“With that, the next thing for the Dragon Age team members and I to do is hear from you, and not just on the forums, or Facebook, or Twitter.
The most valuable thing we can get out of those meetings is to hear from you on those same topics – what does Dragon Age mean to you, and where would you like to see it go? We’re excited to hear what you have to say!”

Darrah also made some notable announcements via his Twitter profile. He revealed that plans for an expansion pack for Dragon Age 2 called Exalted March were discussed but “other DA opportunities came up” which made the team drop the idea entirely.

He also said it’ll be actively looking for fan feedback and will be showing more of the next DA title than before as development work is carried out.

“We’ll be very actively looking for feedback on the next DA title, and will be showing the game more than before as it develops.”

All this clearly points towards Dragon Age 3. Bioware’s got its work cut out for after the criticism it faced from fans for Dragon Age 2, with many complaining it felt like a “rushed” product.

I am playing the first Dragon Age, Dragon Age Origins

and I'm enjoying it very much.

Trying to decide whether to buy 2 although it seems to be getting panned by a lot of people on the message boards.

My guess is that it's an ok game but not up to the standards set by the first game.Am I correct in that ?

I also read where they've dropped the dlc for 2 to focus on 3.I hope they have learned from their mistakes in 2 as well as the one they seem to have made with Mass Effect 3.:jon:
