I recently discovered a Japanese variety show called Gaki no Tsukai. Bets between the 5 presenters are common and one of their regular features on the show is a 24 hour endurance test where the losers of a bet have to go 24 hours in an unfamiliar environment without laughing. The snag is that whoever won the bet gets to orchestrate all kinds of traps to spring on the losers to try and make them laugh.


This clip was taken from one of the aforementioned endurance tests. This one was set in a Japanese high school and four of the five presenters were participating in the challenge whilst the remaining one was trying his hardest to get them to crack.

And by the way, if any participants do laugh then they are punished on the spot. Enjoy.
 
I've got about 3 of their series called "Batsu Gemu" subtitled and all.

Probably one of the funniest japanese shows I have ever watched, I highly reccomend it. There are moments even funnier than this one!

Try and find the one where the woman tries to make them laugh by dancing really badly to Madonna, that's a hilarious clip.

That just cracked me up, that guy trying to read had me in hysterics xD

I would just have to stay at the front on my hands and knees awaiting my punishment

The woman dancing to Madonna is in the high school one too. She dances at dinner, then at graduation and again when they're walking out. xD

Exactly which ones do you have? I think the only one I haven't seen clips of is the police station one. D:

I've got the high school one in full, the health spa in full and one where they're locked in a sports hall for 24 hours where people appear randomly and attempt to chase them down with random punishments such as basketballs to the bollocks.

It's on my old compy though and I gotta wait for it to go through repair, I'll get it sent as soon as I can (Y)

I've seen the one in the gym. That's a 24 hour game of tag. xD

Does the health spa one have C-3PO, R2D2 and Darth Vader in it? That one's my favourite so far.

The very last one Ruud posted almosst killed me off, when they both bashed their heads on theat moose thingy.

I almost drowned washing my face because I got an attack of the giggles and breathed in water

Then I stood on the cat which set me off all over again, there's just no hope xD
 
Oh man this is hilarious. xD That tententententen thing had me cracking up. xD Also when he was trying to read the Marco Polo story in English, oh gawd. xD Great stuff. I wonder if being slapped on the ass with bamboo stick hurts as bad as they're playing it up to? :wacky:

The funniest parts of the video were the screaming the guys made when they got slapped. XD Otherwise, it's not so funny. I'd already seen the "ten ten ten ten, etc." thing on another show and didn't laugh the second time around.

I just love the way the producers of the show have extensively prepared every detail just to make them laugh, especially in the "Game Inn" show. Notice how well the extras keep a straight face!

This is one of my favourite scenes they've done, ever.
Not going to ruin it for you but look at Endo's (the bald guy) reaction at the second and third time, it's priceless!
