ok,this was the first final fantasy game i ever played,i played the gba version,i dont remember alot as i have short term memory and never remember anything but things that dont matter, but kain never really spoke much,i mean, shouldnt he get a spinoof, like vincent did from ffvii, not in the rpg way,but in an action game, with no battle screens, like how DoC was a shooter, something lik that,to know kains back story, and if his lat name is highwind,is he related to cid,who knows, and remember,i dont remeber the game that much,so,dont yeel if i left something out

It depends a little. It never says much about his past. In the DS version, Cecil was orphaned and they got along very well. It also says Kain's dad died. But that is about it. Maybe thee should be some more information!

yeah, and in the spinoff,it would start with when he was a kid before the orphanage, with his father, and what his life was,and how did he become a dragoon, and maybe even show what he looks like under the helmet,i think this spinoff is a ff spinoff everyone ff iv fan would truly want to see,i mean, enough with ff vii already,in the game, you would play as his dad, because theres not alot of story behinfd it,and how kain caim to be,it would be a great game

No, I don't think a spinoff about Kain would be necessary. He's not enough of an interesting character to deserve his own game and the game would end up being almost the same as FFIV because it would cover his childhood, which would be boring, and then him up until he gets lost, and then a boring implied part of the game where he's with Golbez, and then up til the end.

I'm not seeing how it would be a different or interesting game.

As much win as Kain is made of, they've already got FFIV and FFIV the after. So a spin-off with Kain is really not needed. I loved his character, he was definitely my favorite in IV, so if it was ever made I'd definitely nab it. xD

But I pretty much doubt he'd get one- not because he doesn't deserve it, but because it'd be pointless I guess.

Love Kain

But don't think that his back storyline or future storyline could be big enough for a sequel or prequel spin-off. He's in The After isn't he ? ..

Not sure but it looks like they going to explain heaps about the characters in The After.
Which guess could count as including Kain in a spin-off ???

Though a Kain Highwind based sequel would be nice..
:awesome:

I don't think Kain has a strong enough personality to have a spinoff focusing on him. He's rather like Vincent, interesting as a party character, but not interesting enough to be the main focus of a game. He's better as being some sort of mysterious, silent type in the party, rather than the main character.

Kain was amazing, but I'm not sure I'd like to see a spin-off. I often think it's better to leave well alone, there is no way they'd leave the game mechanics intact, which is a bad thing, in my opinion. I'd still be intruiged though, given my recent love affair with FFIV.

i just think he really isnt a character who should play second fiddle to someone else, though the story of a kain spinoff would be rather boring like most people said, its just something that would explain things further, but, theres really nothing to explain,so,i think we should close this thread

He was a cool character, but he doesn't really deserve a spinoff.. It'd be a tad bit boring..

i agree completely that he does not deserve a spin off. Besides, spin offs are always crap
