if it wasnt for the amazing amounts of experimce to be had hear i would absolutely abhor it.
does any one find the henne mines secret are that leads to the zodiark annoying

The enemies there are overpowered compared to comparable enemies outside the mines and the percentages for finding the rare items hidden there, including another zodiac spear, are way too low to justify.
Plus zodiark is a beasty to beat.

I have been through those mines numerous times and STILL have yet to find the Zodiark! haha. I either lose a bunch of health and have to leave or I just get completely lost. =(.
I troll that area of the mines simply for the EXP. 
slap some embroidered tippets on everyone, cycle your group often (as they level) and avoid killing everything but the BATS.... I often have to leave because my chain level gets so high I get too much stuff and have to sell it off.
An excellent place to level overall, and especially to farm for gil (things to sell), but it is rather boring. However, it still gets props because most of the treasure chests around there have very powerful items that they could give up about 50% of the time -- which means, if you go levelling in there often (my party is about level 86) you will find very valuable items in those chests.
I have more ribbons than I know what to do with.

i agree 100% with dragon mage about the experince and the ribbons but, i always run into alot of trouble when it comes to fighting necrofiends and etems because they spam me with phantasmal gaze and death, then when i recover from the spamming and kill them more pop up before i can move.
Ah, thanks! You're a total life saver on that one. I normally just give up haha.
The experience is amazing in there and you can't really pass it up.

Beyond annoying, especially when you fight your way through for ages, get to Zodiark, get him to within a milimeter of life and DIE 
Those red blob efforts.... or green...yellow...? whatever the fuck colour they are that inflict status crap on you drive me insane as well
but yeah, its worth it for the exp ):

yeah you mean the hecteyes things, they only get annoying if theres more then one
