Well i dont know why so many people are scared about that Doc,i realy cant understand.
For the last 4 Month now i'm at last 1 time in the week there to recover my Teeth, because before i never went to a dentist i was to scared.
Now i' not scared any more, but i am wondering what is it making us scared about the dentist.

So tell me are you scared and why you are scared or not?

Nah, the dentist isnt so bad. They drug yah up. Just the one thing i HATE is that noise, you know the one with the drill, thats a high pitched, squeaking whine? I can't stand that noise! other than that i'm not afraid.

Nop i am not afraid of the dentist...it is true nonetheless what Kaos said the noise can bother a bit...

I hate the dentists. I have a broken tooth that really needs removing but i refuse to go and get it pulled. I'm allergic to pain. And drills.

Well get some gas. Good stuff. You can't feel it anymore when the start drilling, but you can HEAR it. Meep.

Actually yes, I'm kinda scared of the dentist. =/ I hate needles. I don't mind the drills and cleaning...but it's the needle and blood that gets to me. I swear, you'd think you'd choke on your own blood. -.- Yeah ok this is a kinda nasty topic lol. Don't wanna think about it anymore. =/

EDIT: I don't mind needles when it comes to shots in arms. But shots in your gums? Uh...eek. The last time I was at a dentists was...years ago. Don't need to go since I never had bad teeth at all.

I don't mind going to the dentist at all. I've never ever had bad teeth, so I've had nothing to worry about. The only case where I found it somewhat distasteful, was when I had to go in for my braces... for 'maintenance' if you will. But other than finding it tedious, I didn't mind going in the slightest.

I don't mind the dentist, after all I've never had any bad teeth either.
It's not that I take care of my teeth too well, I was born with killer teeth

And besides, my dentist is extremely kind and nice to talk to.

I actually love going to the dentist. I actually used to work at one so I always got tips for when I went to the dentist. I've never had a bad visit, I always get the same thing said everytime I go; "You're teeth are perfect" except now I need to get my wisdom teeth out so they've started complaining to me about that.

ouch... the wisdom teeth, I heard that can be quite painful when or if the shot doesn't work properly.. Not looking forward to that myself, gl.

Naw, I'm not affraid of goin' to the dentist. I never did like that squeeeee whirrry of the drill, but it doesn't frighten me. Bad thing about me is when I have water in my mouth to rinse, I'll try to answer the dentist (she talks alot) and I end makin' water come out to soon. XD Only had a few cavities in my life.

And my wisdom teeth are comin' in, so I'm gonna have to get them removed this summer...... I'm not to happy about that.

My teeth have always been good. I go for a regular check up every 6 months, then I see the hygienist to see if she can get rid of some plaque that I haven't been able to get to.

Wisdom teeth was shitty...I didn't get sedated, just my gums were shot up with novacaine. I had an air socket or something formed and I was in pain for like, 2 weeks longer than I should have been. Can't really eat much either.

That's the one thing I'm a little worried about. I'm not really scared to get them out, but they've got to go cut them out and I don't want to look like a chipmunk for a couple of days, but I'm going to have to do it sooner or later

I can't say that I'm afraid to go to the dentist, but I hate going because there will be something wrong with me. I went in January after not going for around 10 years, and I only went because I knew I had to. I had a ton of cavities, many of which were in front teeth. OUCH. I had so many, that I had to make two separate visits. I had 3 shots into the hinge of each side of my jaw. Novocaine tastes funny. The drill vibrated and I could smell my teeth burning. My teeth have always been sensitive to cold, so on the rinse I was just about unglued. I think it would have been alright if it was a dentist I was familiar with, but since I had moved, I didn't have that luxury. I didn't get the best dentist in the world by a longshot. I also needed an extraction, but that was nothing. A shot into the tooth, a poke and prod, and it was out. Less than five minutes. The other stuff took an hour and a half each visit.

I think most people have a problem going to the dentist, aside from the sounds and shots, is that they are awake throughout the procedure. Most things don't require the patient to be put under, so, more than likely, that's out. It is just uncomfortable to be there in that position: practically upside down with people sticking sharp metal instruments in your mouth.

Since that ordeal, I have brushed my teeth everyday. I am never going to the dentist again.

Well listen now to a funny story from my Dentist.
There were a Patient he had an Treatment on a nerv
Anyway the esthesia dident work well on him so for one sec he fellt that pain and he hit the Doc between the leegs with his hand.

Im not scared of the dentist. mainly cos i cant see what there doing. Now blood sample theres a problem ,injections fine but taking my blood out of me no way. last time i had 1 it took 3 hours just to get me to sit in the chair in the end the person who did it just said whats that and jabbed it in my arm saying thats not that bad is it? To be honest yes yes it was that bad

I've hated the dentist ever since mine put that sharp thing right down into a cavity I had when I was younger and I nearly let out a scream. Gives me chills to think about it. I get nervous everytime I go now.

I don't mind the dentist at all. It's good to know everythings alright with my teeth and that kinda jazz, so I have no prob with it. I use to hate the taste of the Flouride crap they put in my mouth to clean it, but after years and years of it, I got used to it.
