Do you have to level to 99?

not only did I level up to 100 in ff8 but I leveled all my GF's to 100 too. I was late in getting eden and when I did she was on some crap level like 10. I went and learned all abilities and then finally got her/him to level 100. It took forever with eden cause everything else was lv100 and I was just leveling for the summon only. Still I needed to see what her full damage was. I think eden can only hit for 50,000 damage. Anyone know if thats correct? hmmm
 
With the amount of fights I get into I end leveling all my dudes and dudets upto lvl99 any way on ffVIII I got into maybe 10,000 fights and well you know far than is needed to level up to the max.

Some people would have you do there way and others have there own opinion's the real point is there is no rule that says you cant level to 99
but if you are a power leveler than max out your guys and tare tyhe shit out any mother#$%^%^* monsters stupid enough to get in your way!
 
I have 99 levels in FF VII, in VIII 100 levels and 100 levels GF's, X-2 99 levels(all spheres also in FFX), in FFXII = 76 levels xD
I love to train :P
 
Is there a point in getting to level 100 in ff8 since you can use junctions to max out your characters LONG before level 99
 
I think I've only ever done it in two games: VIII and Kingdom Hearts (I and II, so I suppose that's three altogether). Getting to level 100 in VIII felt like a great accomplishment partly because of how easy it was to do so, though there was no need due to the junctioning system (it should be noted, however, that levelling does increase stats in VIII, just not by nearly enough). Kingdom Hearts felt do-able purely because of how amazing the game was, I never tired of training. Trying to get the Ultima Keyblade resulted in a lot of training, anyway (particularly in I, those bastarding Lightning Gems -__-).

After that, the next highest level I've reached would be the 80s with my team in IX and I did it to prepare for Ozma (cunt!), but if the most powerful boss in the game doesn't require you to be anywhere near level 99, then why bother?

So, in other games, I don't. :)
 
It really depends on what I'm doing. If I get to 99, it was because I was fighting mobs to get something else. I rarely level just for leveling's sake, unless I can't beat a boss or something.
