Anime Do defeats in action anime really equal friendship?

I don't know if thus truly happens in real life but do defeats in action anime really equal friendship? I guess once someone has experienced the 'agony of defeat' they come to fear the person who had defeated them and become their 'friends', what hurts more than a wound from 'friend'? I don't know whether this is truly friendship or just plain brainwashing (or whatever the term is) to come around to that person's point of view but I don't believe that beating the crap out of some poor guy means 'friendship' or anything of that nature yet I see it all the time in shows like Bleach, Nanoha or even some other action show where the hero gets allies by beating them or 'befriend' them with their superior moral aptitude via fighting power. Is this truly realistic or I do just need to experience this in real life to get an accurate assessment of this?

Of course this isn't realistic, the aim on most animes is to give the audience the feeling of being in a whole other world. Being beaten up in this country doesn't make us "friends" with the one we thought, it usually makes us hate them more.

Well, I gotta agree, if i was beat up by a gang or something.
I wouldn't want to join them and become their friend, I'd plot a revenge and kill the basterds (not really kill, but you get the point guys )

Things like this definitely aren't as common in real life as they are in anime.

But I remember one instance in high school when, my friend got into a fight with someone. Then after school my friends brother came to pick up my friend and he realised he got into a fight. So he was planning to beat up the guy who my mate was fighting, but my mate stopped him.

Long story short, after both my mate and the guy he was fighting got back from their suspension. The guy who fought my friend had a kind of respect for my mate because he didn't make his brother beat him up and yep they ended up becoming friends. I thought it was kinda weird; but I guess it all worked out...

I agree, if someone beat me up, I wouldnt want to know them! I recently watched Sailor Moon and they defeat the Phantom Sisters and make them into human beings. They love Sailor Moon and co for this and all become close friends. Heck in real life, you'd tell the polcie if someone beat up you and your sisters.

But the whole point of some animes is to teach young viewers that no matter what, you can become good friends no matter what. Its nice, but its a cartoon lol.
