Dissidia Ending

Well anyway....
Here is an image of the field before, without flowers and then after with flowers. Click if you'd like screen shots.

Cali I'm glad too and also surprised, Thanks for the Translations by the by, figures Cloud would say somethin' so Cool ;) Man is it just me or does Tidus look like Ichigo Kurosaki?
Yea, I thought that too.
I was told Dissidia was gonna have different endings for every character.
But I saw Cloud's whole story, the ending was the same as this one.

What's going on there? :randompoke:

Well anyway....
Here is an image of the field before, without flowers and then after with flowers. Click if you'd like screen shots.

Massive camera angle change just between those shots though, and the edge of the field can be seen in the establishing shot.

Here is an intermediate screenshot, showing Squall and the Flowers, but no Cloud.
It's just not particularly visible til the camera has it appear, like the pond (or ocean, come to thing of it) Tidus kips into isn't particularly visible when the camera angle is off of it. They were particularly clever with that. No, the flower fields don't appear for Cloud, but oddly, the moon does appear for Cecil's line.

Here's a thought, might some of the items the heroes carry or 'have related to them' be intended to represent their foes?
Tidus- Jecht Memory Sphere
Zidane- Kuja's rod, I believe
Squall- this one is a stretch, unless somehow Ulti is somehow released of her dementia and her feathers become white.
Cloud- I've only seen one Materia that size, and that's the Black Materia.
Tina- I'll admit, I'm not entirely sure what a Shell has to do with either Kefka or Tina, but I'll check later.
Butz- The stick, a part of the forest that Exdeath- a tree- originated in.
Cecil- The moon. A gimme. Golbez left with the moon, and both are half lunarian
Onion- Again, not sure, exactly, what a darkened crystal has to do with Cloud of Darkness, save that she arose when there was an excess of darkness, but she also rose with the light, IIRC.
Fririonel- The rose... specifically refers to him and the resistance movement, not the emperor, unless I really forget something. It is symbolic of FF2 though.
Warrior- He goes to Corneria. Garland hails from Corneria, and was its proudest knight before Chaos used him for his purposes. Which, incidentally, brings me back to my timeloop and Warrior question.

Anyone else think I'm onto something here, or shall we just take them all as symbolic of the games, the heroes hail from, and not anyone in particular from them?

The white feather that Squall catches has to do with Rinoa. If you remember in the ending of FFVIII he catches Rinoa's white feather. It has nothing to do with Ultimecia, IMO and everything to do with that feather taking him back to his world and to Rinoa.

Like I said, that one was a stretch, same with Fririonel. I know they aren't all referencing villians, but certain things only make sense as either 'villian reference' or 'general game symbol', like Butz's branch.

I told myself I wouldn't spoil myself, but I just had to watch every single Cecil scene, so that included the ending, haha.

I really liked the ending, though I couldn't understand what they were saying. It was kinda cute how
Zidane launched into the air, and then Squall caught the feather.

BTW Cali, I hope Tifa is a secret side character. :D

And hey, a question about the crystal/materia Cloud was holding. It wasn't the holy materia at all, was it? Just wondering. Cloud called it a "crystal" and I heard that it was the symbol of the FFVII world, but is that all? :)

They're all crystals of their respective worlds, but the question is are they anything more?
It's definitely too big to be the pebble sized Holy, roughly the same size as the biggest non huge materia on record- the Black one.

Celes, All Cecil scenes? Whereis? You show now. GIVE.

Addendum: The blocking of this scene is quite clever, as is the way the features are arranged so that you they mostly control what you get to see, outside of peaks. I'll try and get a sketch of the terrain and camera angles limiting shots later.

I highly doubt Tifa is a secret side character....I really wish you would stop being so patronizing towards her. You seem to do this a lot, Celes...

Isn't it weird that the flower field wasn't there before it showed Cloud getting up? The only reason the field appeared while Squall was there, was because Cloud and Squall were the closest people together.

The field wasn't there when the camera zoomed out before they all started saying their goodbyes. But it magically appeared as soon as Cloud was appearing on screen.

They had to make the field appear when the area wasn't being watched by the player. It would be weird to see a huge flower field appear while staring at Cloud.

Well, I'd say you were right if it wasn't for the fact that Sephiroth's Black Materia is Black and not Green. Anyway I thought they changed the size of all the materia?
It's hard quoting people when you have to use spoiler tags lol
I highly doubt Tifa is a secret side character....I really wish you would stop being so patronizing towards her. You seem to do this a lot, Celes...

I don't think she'll be a secrete character too. I don't think they'll add Aerith either. And I wouldn't want Aerith or Tifa in the game because then the player could make Cloud fight against either girl. I disliked it when they let the player choose Cloud to fight against Tifa in that "Ener...
(I'm not sure of the name) game,
so I'm happy with the fact that neither girl is in Dissidia.

I've only seen one Materia that size, and that's the Black Materia.

Sorry to disappoint you Black Materia, is well, Black XD

BTW Cali, I hope Tifa is a secret side character.

-And if she is then we get to see Cloud beating the shit outta her, just like in Egerheiz, Why would you want that? I definitely wouldn't, maybe thats just me.

Just you. I think he looks even more like Meg Ryan than he did in 10.
And Cloud's line to Squall is definitely an in joke about KH2.

Well, your welcome to stating your own opinion, no matter how rude or wrong it be. I think he looks like Ichigo >:\ and he doesn't look like Meg Ryan.

^ to above, the game was Ergheiz, and IMO it was a pretty crappy game. Though you could fight in Tifa's cowgirl outfit, and I believe Cloud's grunt outfit which was really cute. Now I feel like they should've included the ShinRa grunt outfit for Dissidia.

For me, I'm not one to look too deeply into Dissidia's story. I think it's most likely Square being reference happy, as they tend to be.
I'm pretty sure each ending is just a humble nod to their respective games in order to make the fans feel nostalgic, or something.
But of course, there is no harm taking it as you'd like *shrug* :)

and as for Tidus and Meg Ryan...

Take it as you like, but no denying the comparison is a little lolworthy

Um, it WAS there before that shot. Just as the pond was there before Tidus's shot. It simply hard to see.

Actually, the Black Materia was Blue or Purple depending on the light, It was the 'Black' Materia because it cast the ultimate 'Black' magic.

And even the 'resized' Materia are not that large, and Holy was a tiny thing, capable of fitting in Aerith's braid and ribbing, andfar paler than the generic magic green of the one he's holding.

Well, your welcome to stating your own opinion, no matter how rude or wrong it be. I think he looks like Ichigo >:\ and he doesn't look like Meg Ryan.

And You're rather wrong. He far more resembles Meg Ryan than he does Ichigo. See, I can make assertions without backing them up too!

Even though I am backing mine up.

Er, who's to say who is right when talking about who a character resembles? That is very rude. To me Tidus does not resemble Meg Ryan although I have heard that comparison before....even though he is a virtual character he doesn't look as enhanced as Meg Ryan does in that picture! Tidus looks more feminine.... Not saying Tidus looks like Ichigo to me either mind you, an anime character is unlikely to resemble a realistic one.

About the crystal....couldn't it just resemble a Materia in general? Materia = FFVII.

lmao thank you for that picture looney. It's hilarious!
I've always thought Tidus looked like her. But I gotta say he looks a lot better in Dissidia.

Possibly.

I'm not doubting that the materia is just materia, but the Lilies are definitely there for an Aerith reference. Whether or not some people will choose to it ignore or face it, is the fact here

Can we please not start a huge debate over whether a ball of materia is the white materia or the black materia, and could we please not argue over the whole Aerith/flowers/FFVII reference in regards to Cloud's Dissidia ending? Thank you.

I've always thought Tidus looked like her. But I gotta say he looks a lot better in Dissidia.

I think Tidus looks better than Meg Ryan personally...*cough*

About the crystal....couldn't it just resemble a Materia in general? Materia = FFVII.

Yeah. I think it's more to do with game connections than personal character ones... Though personal connections are seen in some of them.

Tidus -
A Sphere, one of many used to record events in the game. He also jumps into the lake in similar style to his dissapearance scene in FFX when the Fayth stopped dreaming
.

Zidane -
Not too sure what it is, but people have said it is Kuja's staff.... I think it resembles the FF9 crystal logo, so could be a reference to that too.. But also contains character reference in that he's been a pesky thief and obviously stolen it!

Squall -
The feather was important symbolism in the opening FMV and I think in other scenes too perhaps. Feather from the wings of an angel, Rinoa. So essentiall a character reference on his behalf

Cloud -
Two references. Materia, I believe is just standard materia to reference the game. The fields of flowers I believe are a symbol of hope of regrowth, flowers being a motif in the game as well... Yes they may reference Aerith, but I don't believe that it means that Cloud and Aerith are meant to be etc... I mean, how were the meant to reference Tifa? Two breast-shaped hills in the background? So Aeirth was at an unfair advantage in being a reference point, but she was bound to be anyway being that she gave a lot of hope in the FF7 world.

Terra -
I have no idea of the significance of the shell. Perhaps the pearl is to signify purity, Terra being of pure heart. Probably... the shell is her powerful casing (fantastic magical capabilities) and the pearl is her hope, her love, her soul. Without sounding corny. :P

Bartz -
Throws a stick to the ground. This to me symbolises the travellers theme. Someone free enough to wander and throw sticks to the ground because he can. I can almost imagine him dreaming of Boko while throwing that the ground, and almost imagining him fetching the stick.

Cecil -
Moon. He is a lunarian, and so his connection to the moon is obvious, perhaps the most blatant.

Onion Knight -
Don't know a thing about this :P. But I'm gathering that the game is about collection crystals and stuff.

Firion -
The rose, the symbol of the freedom group Red Roses. This is a symbol of the ultimate fight for freedom against evil imperial rule. It is crucial to FF2

Warrior of Light -
The crystal as he is a crystal bearer. Also, the most significant of all, is him walking up to Cornelia castle, reminiscent of the opening scene of FF1... So yes, perhaps this is the START of FF1? Or another loop of it? Great reference anyway.

For anyone who wants to see the start of FF1 people have refered to... Here it is: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YqPV_vEQAPk

Ohh snap! lol

You could be right too. I won't *really* know anything until I either get the game or I see more translations.

I highly doubt Tifa is a secret side character....I really wish you would stop being so patronizing towards her. You seem to do this a lot, Celes...

I-I didn't do anything. She mentioned how "I wonder why there is a hint of Aerith and no Tifa" and I honestly expressed how I hoped Tifa would be involved. o_O I in no way meant to be patronizing. I didn't even say anything to her 'Clourith' comment either. Something makes me think that I would have been in trouble for mentioning a pairing, but Cali would get off scott free. :/ And, I really think Tifa has a possibility of being an unlockable character (Unless it's confirmed that there are no more characters) because of her strength and the fact that there aren't many heroines in the game. (She was in a fighting game already, so why not again? :) ) Terra/Tina was a nice choice, but there's a part of me that of course hopes Celes would be unlockable.

And if she is then we get to see Cloud beating the shit outta her, just like in Egerheiz, Why would you want that? I definitely wouldn't, maybe thats just me.

It's just a game. I have enough common sense to know that if Cloud and Tifa are pitted together in a VS battle, it doesn't literally mean that they hate one another. I don't necessarily want to see Cloud 'beat the crap' out of say, Terra, but I think it's interesting and fun to have all the characters battle against one another using their different strengths. Is that clear?

BTW Ryu, try the tube. :D There are plenty of Cecil scenes up an running. Much like yourself, I'm a huge fan of IV.
And, thanks for all the posting. I've come to the conclusion that the Materia+Flowerfield represent the VII world. :)

The crystal he's holding looks just likethe one in the FF3 DS opening movie, butI'm hardly started the game so I can't point out any more significance

Oh snap. Meg Ryan hasn't really been looking her greatest the past few years that's for sure. It's a little depressing that Tidus, a video game character, probably has a more expressive face than she presently does. :P

Awww... Now I feel mean. But not really. o_O

and as much as I'd like for more characters to show up, I think it's pretty much confirmed that what we've seen so far is the full roster.

Tidus/Meg Ryan That is so funny!! The men are becoming a bit more prettier in games and in real life these days.
