Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

So adding onto...

  • Japan gets KH1 Cloud with BbS FM, Lightning Brea from 3rd Birthday, Amano Tifa in the first print run of the game, and KH1 Leon in the next issue of the magazine (I dunno, Dengeki, Famitsu, Jump? I forget D=)
  • EU get's the Legacy Pack that comes with KH1 Leon and Amano Tifa
  • NA get's KH1 Cloud from Gamestop, Amano Tifa from Amazon

If you buy the UK 3rd Birthday bundle, you can get access to the Lightning Brea costume.

Whoa, 3/4 alts. guaranteed just for UK. I already had plans to buy 3rd Birthday and Duodecim, but doesn't seem anything extra will come with the games over here in NA, just where to get them from.

...Yep, I think I'm gonna be importing more in the future. I'm curious how KH Cloud will be available then...

THEN I COULD HAVE THEM ALL! :rage:

hmmm lighting costume in 3rd birthday.... might have to pick that up :D

The Lightning Brea outfit is pretty lame to be honest. I think Square Enix should have just made Aya Brea in the game as a guest character or something. The one in the 3rd birthday is really lame. The dissidia one is alright cause it does look like Aya a bit but still if they implemented Aya in the game it would have been so much better.

Ah, me too! I thought I was the only one who wanted them. Though I wouldn't have minded Eiko, Beatrix or Vivi for 9 or the Figaro Twins for 6 as well. :x3:

Me three ! Princess Garnet is my fav FF character. I would, play Dissidia 012 for hours if it had Garnie in it. :spaz:

I'm not so sure about Garnet now that we have Yuna in the game, but I'd love to see the brothers Figaro in the game - Edgar using physicals and long-range attacks, while Sabin sticks to the opponent like glue.

Yeah, it'd be awesome.

All these different costumes from buying a dissidia game from a certain place... this drives me nuts. Can't we just unlock them? Is it really so hard to be nice to fans these days?

Dagger (I sorta like that name more lol) would play like Yuna, so I suppose that's why she wasn't added....? :(

I hope one FF9 character makes it in next time. I'm not really happy with the characters we got in this one...Except Laguna, he's amazing. xD

Me too! That would truley be awesome. Edgar's fighting style would be neat to play as and Sabin would provide an amazing smack-down character. :D

I kinda like Garnet better, because it's named after a beautiful gem, not dissing Dagger but it sounds really pretty. But this is just my opinion. Yuna has heaps of fans, and more people are more familiar with FF X than FF IX, so guess that's why she got added, but I'm actually surprised that Rydia didn't get through as the summoner, she's really, really poplaur.

I agree about the characters. But I can see why they got through.

FF7- Tifa and Aeris are both extremely poplaur and they are probably the most poplaur Final Fantasy females in history, Japan and Western.

FF8- Laguna was meant to be in Birth by Sleep, but guess Zack did a better job. Also he's really important to the storyline and the second main character to Squall.
It could of been Rinoa, but according to TV tropes, she's extremely unpopular and like the " scrappy ".

FF10- Yuna has bunch of fans, and she's liked more than Seymour, Rikku, Lulu. Expect maybe Auron, but Auron would be too familiar to Cloud's fighting style.

FF11- Prishie. This is the only one that I'm confused about.

FF12 Vaan- EXTREMELY Popular in Japan.

FF4- Kain- One of the most poplaur FF4 characters, expect Rydia.

FF5- Gilgamesh- A well known character around the whole FF series.

FF13- Lighting- The main role like Squall, Cloud, Zidane and Terra.

So they all kind of make sense, why SE chose them to get through, expect Prishie.
:hmmm:

Edgar would be prefect for Dissidia, he's different from the other characters and could yet still dominate the battlefield. Sabin would be too close to Tifa and now Prishie now thoughs. :sad3:

I've been saying it for a little while now, but I believe Prishe is a designer favourite. She's a Jerk Sue with major socialization issues, everybody in the game is so eager to help her out and she never seems to cop any responsibility for slagging off at everyone and anyone.

As for Sabin being too close... I don't think so. Tifa is more built around feints, whereas I envisage Sabin to be a real grappler - low knockback, single-hit stuff like piledrivers and throws. Plus, he could use Bakh Nagh instead of fists like the Tiger Claws, which has a different fighting style associated with it - more slashing, roundhouse blows than jabs.

I'm just happy not one, but two monks got in. Monks are friggin' ace :ryan:. And if Sabin got in, that would be ace, though I'm a bigger fan of Zell. In terms of the series monk, my order of favourites goes:

Zell =/= Tifa > FFI Monk > Sabin > Yang > Amarant

(Dunno much about Prishe and I couldn't bring myself to get too far on FFII, so them monks go over my head)

Alas, as I've said before, it looks like it was either new character or a new stage for most of the games, and FFVI and IX got stages. However, I'm very impressed with the decisions for both stages, Prima Vista and Phantom Train look frickin ace, so to me, they've just justified not adding characters from said games, but hey, I'm not saying no if they ask if we want the characters added as well. (y)

I know I will end up buying this to play as Yuna.. but I do see it getting boring pretty fast after I beat story mode and whatever else. If there was a default online play without setting up much that would be cool. Makes the game less boring. Thing is.. psp is not one of my favorites to play on. I would much prefer if they made Duodecim or the next dissidia in the future.. on Xbox 360/ps3. That would just give it more variety and get a lot more players.

You're right about them needing to put Dissidia on a console, at least at some point. It would make it easier to access online (Wired PS3 connection to access AdHoc is out of the question for most :hmph:) and they could add so much more, characters, stages, modes, even music.

Graphic improvement would be awesome too, I guess.

Square enix are doing a pre release event in japan on march the 2nd where they are meant to me talking about details for a new character ;) vivi please :P here is the article:

Square Enix will be celebrating the release of Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy with a pre-release live broadcast on Nico Nico Douga. The event, titled "Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Pre-Release Night Festival," will be broadcast on March 2 starting at 19:00.

The broadcast will see talk sessions with the development staff and voice actors. The results of the "MAD" play movie contest and illustration contests, now running at Nico Nico Douga and Nico Nico Seiga, will be announced. It also looks like we'll get details on a new character that will be announced just ahead of launch (this could be just in reference to Gilgamesh, or it could be someone completely new).

To watch the broadcast for yourself, tune in to Nico Nico Video here. You'll need to have a free registered account to view.

@Yuna Lover's post.:
I hope its a new new character and not someone we know of already through hacks and whatnot.

@_Symphonia:
Garnet is a nice name, I just can never remember it so that's why I like Dagger xD

Yea Sabin and Tifa would be the same class sorta, but they could be built differently :)

EDIT:
Well, here are the weapons of the new character we don't know of it:

???:
Peil(?) Storm
Silvance(?)
Balmonk(?)
Crescent Knife

Wonder who it could be. Judging by the knife, probably another thief. Unless warriors of the old games could use knives, I can't remember >.>

I wonder who that could be. I can't think of anyone else who uses knives in FF...except Locke.

I was kinda hoping it wasn't a thief. Maybe a mage or something.... :hmmm:
But it's okay with me if it does turn out to be Locke.
