Serious Did you meet your partner under strange circumstances?

So I was just thinking about this last night after I mentioned to my partner that I was so glad I met him when I did.

I met my partner on a train coming back from clubbing one night.

I had initially gone out for the night to celebrate my new life as a single woman with a couple of my other girlfriends.

At around 12 we decided to head home and when we got to the train station we got confused as to which train we were meant to catch, as the drivers didn't even seem know when we asked. <_<

After running back and forth we finally settled in the first train we went to at the start.

I remember turning around to see what all the noise was behind us (once I had sat down) and made eye contact with Steve before quickly turning back around.

The next thing I knew, Steve and his mate came and sat with us (Steve sat next to me XD) and he was pretty drunk. He'd been out for the night to celebrate his birthday.

He asked for my number and then fell asleep on my shoulder. XD

I didn't think anything would come of it but two years later here we are. =D

I remember an old friend from highschool told me that she met her boyfriend on the train. Got his number and went from there. At the time I thought it was the last place to pick up a guy. But it just goes to show that things don't always go how we think they will.

I've never seen him drunk since that night save for one Christmas work party. So first impressions definitely aren't everything. Don't judge a book by it's cover. =P

So have any of you had any interesting first meetings with past or current partners? Did you meet them in the last place you thought you'd ever pick up a guy/girl? Have you told yourself that you'd never go out with a guy/girl you met at a pub and then marry him/her? XD Did you end up with your ex's brother/sister?

Uh, I suppose you could say that. It's not the 'place' that was strange, it's the 'when we met' that was quite interesting. I guess you could say the timing was wrong, but not really...? It's a long story and I won't give out too much details.

I met him in my APES (AP Environmental Science) class the second day that the school year began. I was about to go inside the room but he was blocking my way, holding out a trash bag to me. I think I was in an impatient mood, and I kinda had an attitude when I asked, "What's this for?" and he looked surprised and said it was for a project we were going to do that day. Anyway, the whole year I guess he liked me a lot but never really said anything, although I got the vibe from him whenever we talked briefly or passed each other on the campus.

Then during his Senior graduation (I was a Junior), after the ceremony, we all went to Disneyland for a celebration. One of those little field trips that the school provided. We were there from 10 pm - 5 am and he told me a few things about his 'situation'. I won't mention it since it's very private and I know my husband is still pretty sensitive about the subject, but it really put a test to our new relationship. He had asked me out the very next day and I went on my first official date.

Later that week a lot of things started happening...I received a lot of phone calls from this woman and she was very threatening. She got my number through Tim's yearbook. My stepmom and dad was getting pissed because she would pretend to be from the court (yeah right, the court calling at 9 o'clock), saying I got into an accident with Tim. She was such a chronic liar. She worked at Kaiser Permanente and even had private investigators track info about my dad coz' she knew his middle name. >.> Anyway, Tim felt bad and finally told me the whole story, even though I already knew most of it since he had let me know before we started going out and I still accepted him. He told my stepmom as well to ensure my safety. He got a restraining for us all, and for a few weeks there was a lot of people involved in the mess ... the police, the court, his parents, his grandma, my family.

I was very stressed out at 16, so I told him I needed a break and went to stay with my aunt at another city for two months. We'd still talk on the phone but I just wanted to get away from everything. When I was ready, I went back home and things were a little calmer. Tim managed to fix the situation and won the case. I am surprised the woman didn't go to jail because there were like seven offenses that she did.

I hate that woman with a passion. And her kids too because they were somehow involved but I think it was more like their mom controlling them. She controlled a lot of people and used a lot of mind games to those around her, blackmailing people that are innocent, having them fall for her trap. Tim was trying to protect his mom and dad and he fell for her wicked plans. I know he cried a lot about it - and when he was about to finally break free, the woman got crazy. Last I heard, my bro-in-law saw her several months ago and she gained a lot of weight. I've never met her personally, even though she had wanted to meet with me to try to talk me out of my relationship with Tim.

But anyway, that's my little version of the story. So yeah, we met at a very strange situation, but here we are, with a 4-year-old daughter and it's great to be back in California. (We had moved to Ohio a year after the whole thing happened, and just came back home 6 months ago). If ever I come across that woman, my sisters-in-law and I won't hesitate to kick her ass.

Me and my partner work for different compaines, but int the same shop. Usually shop relationships arent allowed, but we dont work together. Anyhoo, he was dating his ex when I first met him and I found him very attractive from the start. However, he gave off a negative, loner kinda vibe. Which put me off abit.

But we got on and my partner at the time got on with him aswell. So he splits with his girlfriend and all hell breaks loose at work. She didnt like any other female members of staff cause she thought everyone was out to split her and him up. And in the end he had had enough of her and ended it. She then mega turned on me, making my life hell and I had no ieda why.

Untill my best mate told me he had confessed to her how he felt for me! I thought it was a wind up and he suddnely appeared behind me and touched my shoulder to ask me something. I literally ran off in a shop full of customers because I was so freaked out! I finally found a guy I really, really did like and he felt the same!! It scared me. He had rowed with her afew minutes before and told her how he felt for me and told her to butt out. But because I was in a relationship, he said nothing to me because he thought I was happy.

But I wasnt. Then when we all went out, I confessed how I felt and stormed off, he followed me and told me he felt th same way. And he just hugged me and I get goosebumps just thinking about it. I loved his smell, him holding me, it was perfect. Even holding hands felt so natural to me.

And here we are 9 months and 7 days in lol. Not as long as other relationships weve both had, but I really truly hope we can make this work forever. Not to sound corny lol!
