People have discussed which person would have been chosen as Yuna's summon. Did you know there was only ever one choice? Tidus is the only choice. A summon is a fayth. A fayth is a inhabitant of Zanarkand 1,000 years ago. In both Jecht and Tidus's case, they were dreams of Fayth from 1,000 years ago but became real thus allowing them to become summons. Lord Zeon, Jecht, and Tidus are all inhabitants of Zanarkand (in one form or another) and so they can all become summons.

So my question is, who were the fayth (summons) in between Zeon and Jecht?

I thought anyone could be the final summoning as long as they were made a fayth - didnt Yunalesca ask who Yuna wanted to make the fayth? I assume she would have just killed whoever she nominated/volunteerd. Also, didn't Auron volunteer to become Braskas Final Aeon, but Jecht said he'd do it because he had nowt to live for in that world....? And Seyours mum became Anima and SHE wasn't a inhabitant of Zanarkand.....that's just mythoughts anyway... :gasp:

Didn't Yunalesca say something along the lines of "an unbreakable bond of love", or something to that effect, in reference to the type of person who can sacrifice themselves and become a fayth?

I'd disagree with the opening claims because then that suggests every High Summoner has had the same story as Yuna, in terms of meeting a dream of the fayth, and that just seems really unlikely to me.

A summon is a Fayth; Yunalesca turns the chosen into Fayth's for the final summoning. For instance, Seymour's Mother chose to become his Fayth, but she wasn't from Zanarkand to begin with.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a bond of love, but some kind of connection (good friends fore example) to be able to become the Fayth.

In Tidus' and Jecht's case, they weren't real - they were still dreams of the Fayth, but became more than that simply because they have been affected by Sin, and have gone beyond the boundries of Dream Zanarkand.

Well, as the story progresses, it actually points to that. Look at who the main past High Summoners were: Braska and Yunalesca.

They both met up with someone in their life that they connected with on a very personal level and they just so happened to be from Zanarkand.

It is possible that those Final Summons in between Yunalesca and Braska/Yuna could have had the same story. Why did Tidus get sucked into the current Spira? Sin. Sin is the one who pulled each in over the years, and it seems that Sin has a knack for pulling in a replacement that they have a personal connection to, to take it's place once it is defeated in the end.

That could also raise the question...who was Sin at the time that Jecht got pulled into Spira? Why would Jecht be chosen? Someone that knew Jecht in Dream Zanarkand and had disappeared 10 years before Jecht did?

Seymour's mother is the only one that really defeats the theory. It does work with Lord Zeon, Jecht, and Tidus but I forgot about her. I also knew that the aeons manifest themselves as people in the real world (IE - Valefor was seen as a little girl in Besaid) but I could have explained that away as "it was their human form in the modern world, not necessarily who they were initially".

The basic foundation of my theory isn't wrong. A summon is a fayth. A fayth is an inhabitant of Zanarkand 1,000 years ago. However, I guess since it was Yunalesca who transformed all the inhabitants into fayth originally, she can continue to turn people into fayth. It's just that they're not "real" fayth, they're just final summons.

EDIT: Good point about Jecht, Busta. It brings up an entirely different set of questions but it's very interesting. Who knows, maybe Seymour's mother was a dream of the fayth as well?

The Calm Lasts For 10 Years After Sin Is Defeated..

NO ONE Said Sin Was Defeated Every 10 Years.....

Braska Probably Defeated SIn After He Was ALive For 30 - 50 Years..

An Aeon/Summon isn't actually a Fayth. It's a dream of the Fayth. The Fayth will join with the Summoner, allowing the Fayth's dream to manifest in the form of each respected Aeon.

For example the little boy, who's Bahamut's Fayth isn't actually Bahamut. Bahamut is his dream. Joining with the Summoner allows the dream to become real, when the Summoner calls.

While it is true that the majority of Fayths are originally inhabitants of the Real Zanarkand, anyone can become a Fayth. Seymour's mother is a prime example of this.

Also, Yunalesca wasn't the one who transformed the inhabitants of Zanarkand into Fayths during the war. That was Yu Yevon and he used that power to create the Dream Zanarkand. Yunalesca only transformed Zaon.

Now, to suggest that High Summoner Gandof, OHalland and Yocun all ran into a person from the Dream Zanarkand and use them as the Fayth for their Final Summons seems unlikely. Gandof for example, defeated Sin 600 hundred years after Zanarkand was destroyed. So for Zaon's Sin to go to dream Zanarkand and pull someone into Spira because he has a connection with them seems strange (I think someone suggested Sin goes back for people, like Jecht went back for Tidus)

Plus, as stated already, Yunalesca asks Yuna to chose who will be the Fayth. Ontop of that Seymour wishes to become the Fayth for Yuna to use as the Final Aeon. Seymour is not from Zanarkand, he is from Guadosalam.

Whoever becomes the Final Aeon for the Summoner is based upon who the Summoner has a strong bond with, and chooses. Being from either the real Zanarkand of the dream version doesn't play a part. Anyone can become the Fayth.

All of that is not correct. A summon is not a dream of the fayth. A dream of the fayth is not a real or tangible thing. Summons are. For the majority of the game, you're lead to believe that Bahamut is a summon and he represents himself as that boy. That's not the case. He is the boy and his physical manifestation is Bahamut, not a dream. Summons are Fayth in physical form. Dreams of the Fayth do not have physical forms.

It is actually true. The Fayth is not the Aeon, the Aeon is a dream of the Fayth. Maechen explains this, and if I remember rightly Lulu also mentions it.

Also, the Fayth do say they are tired of dreaming, this isn't just reffering to the Dream Zanarkand, this is also about the Aeons, hense Bahamut's Fayth telling Yuna to call them during the battle with Yu Yevon. After Yu Yevon and Sin are defeated, Aeons are no longer needed. The Fayth can stop dreaming, and they are set free. Yu Yevon used the remaining people of Zanarkand during the war as Fayths to create the dream Zanarkand. Once Yu Yevon is defeated, the dream Zanarkand also slips away.

As for the "Dreams of the Fayth do not have physical forms" comment, explain Tidus and Jecht then, they are dreams, yet become real and have physical form.

Aeons are dreams of the Fayth, brought forward and manifesting in physical form when the Summoner calls them, hense why the Fayths have to join with the Summoner. Think about it, if the Fayth's physical manifestation is the Aeon, why would they need summoners? They wouldn't.

Bahamut's Fayth is that little boy correct? That boy became a Fayth, his physical form is a boy, not an Aeon.

Yes, Jecht and Tidus, both dreams of the fayth, become real after coming into contact with Sin. Aeons are the Fayth's physical form. And the Fayth are tired of dreaming Dream Zanarkand, not about Aeons. When the Fayth disappear, they cannot manifest themselves physically. I'm not replying after this because everything I just said is dead nuts on and arguing fiction against fantasy is just crazy.

I agree with DLF.
And also Jecht and Tidus were not truly from the original Zanerkend so that throws more of it out the window.

Fayths are not Aeons. Aeons are dreams of that Fayth manifesting into the physical form once a Summoner calls. This is why Fayths have to join with Summoners.

When Yunalesca transformed Seymour's mother into a Fayth, she did not physically change into Anima. Anima is the result of her Fayth joining with Seymour or another Summoner and her dream manifestating into an entity of great power.

Just to add to this, think about it. Yu Yevon is summoning the dream Zanarkand, which is what he was able to do after transforming the remaining people of the real Zanarkand into Fayths. Now, going by this, the Fayth are dreaming, hense Tidus and Jecht existance. The Fayth are dreaming of Zanarkand, they are not Zanarkand. Same principle with Aeons. Just like the Fayths joined with Yu Yevon in order to summon the dream Zanarkand, the result is the place and the people in this Dream. These Dreams (Tidus and Jecht) become real once being taken from the dream into reality (like Jecht and Tidus.) It's just the same with Aeons. The Fayth will join with the Summoner, when the Summoner calls, the Fayth's dream manifests into reality.
