did you ever make a character go a different route in the sphere grid? like for example:Tidus going down his route to get enough speed, than going auron's way for strength

Nah, other than Kinmhari who always end up going randomly wherevre, I send everyone down their normal paths Im boring liek that y'see, but then I like to stat max, so there's no real point as all my characters will be going over each others paths eventually anyway, and I always seem t ohave a physically stronger Yuna than Auron, when I start training, still not worked out how I manage thatr everytime ¬.¬

I let them go whichever direction on the sphere grid.

... Auron always staying my strongest character. -die-
I could never get Rikku to max out, though. :C GUH.

Rikku's early path has a shedload of HP+ spheres (presumably to even her out with the other characters) as well as Steal (which is awesome) and Use (which is even more useful). So, I tend to have at least one character go in that general direction, usually Yuna (because I like her to be a full-on support character). Aside from that, I don't deviate too much in the early days. I think I might have had Tidus on Auron's path before.

It's an interesting one early on, but you kinda need them all to be what they're designed to be rather than totally changing them. like you need wakka's accuracy, lulu's magic, tidus' agility, so you could change it up I suppose, but you'd have to spend a bit of time gathering a lot of AP.

Perhaps next time I'll mix it up, who knows!:neomon:

I was boring I always stayed on the right path.

I made the mistake of taking Kihmari down the magic route though. He kinda sucked later on.

I tried to make each character different from the other. I don't really know whatever I developed them according to what they are supposed to be or not. I believe Lulu and Yuna were developed the way they supposed to.

Yuna - white magic
Lulu - black magic
Wakka - status attacks, without Break skills
Tidus - A lot of HP + Haste/Slow/Hastega/Slowga white magics
Rikku - thief skills
Kimahri - Generalist, learns a bit of everything
Auron - I wanted him to be a Tank type (high attack & defense), but somehow he ended up with: low speed & attack and an average defense.
Mainly used his Break skills and later he became similar to Tidus and learned haste.

I guess kinda messed up party :highfive:

I tried taking Yuna and Lulu down the high attacker path. It wasn't as successful as I imagined- but nonetheless it felt strangely satisfying to see Lulu releasing her Cait Sith doll into a fiend and inflicting about 3000 odd damage while Auron only manages under 2000.

Well eventually each character's route runs out so yeah I did. I completed the whole sphere grid with Tidus and almost with Auron.

If you just mean starting off going into someone else's grid, then I've done that with Kimahri plenty of times. His route is so short that I just skip it sometimes and send him down a different one.

I remember the last time I played that I was taking both Wakka and Kimahri down Auron's path. And I think Auron was just going down Tidus's path. If I had played it some more I would have loved to explore more ways to customize my character's. AKA Lulu becoming a strong fighter, or Yuna using black magic.

I didn't change my character path's too much, but right off the start I got a few of the higher white magicks for rikku, like dispel, reflect etc. It was pretty easy since they were next to each other, and really helped in the early fights against seymour.

Umm.. Not till the end when I started abusing the monster arena to max stats. :D

Tidus went down EVERY path at that point. xD
