Bet your just saying that so I don't kill you with suspense lol
Here's the next two anyways
Chapter 14: What to do?
Faith sighed as she stepped into the warm bath. She lay down and looked at the soapy water thinking on whether or not she should just drown herself. She decided it was best not to. Instead she just cried.
“Rene. I never meant to hurt you.” She said in the midst of her tears “I had no choice!”
Ring ring
The phone rang but she chose to ignore it.
“Please. Can you ever forgive me?”
Ring ring
She had to figure a way to help but it her present condition she knew she wouldn’t be able to. She loved Rene, not in the same way as she loved Filden and Abby but in a way that she had thought not possible for her to feel.
Ring ring
She picked up the phone,
“Faith here.” She said trying to hide the tears ion her voice. Using her foot she turned the tap on the bath and let the hot water fall on her gently.
“Ah Ms. Crest. You were taking your time my child.” Emperor Liner spoke gently “My advisors say I should not be the one to call such a lesser ton such as yourself but I decided it would be nice.
“Thank you my lord.” Faith said quietly “What does one need from myself?”
“Oh I just thought you should know that we have tracked down your friends. They are on their way to Rosalia now. We shall be keeping watch on them.” Faiths eyes widened
“You’ve found the my lord?” She said flabbergasted “Th-Thank you for this information my lord.” Liner hung up and Faith jumped out of the bath. Not caring that she was naked she threw open the window and using her powers beckoned a carrier pigeon to her. She wrote a quick note and tied it to the leg of the bird
“Please. Take this to him. Take this to Rene.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rene yawned. He got up but felt as though someone had smashed bricks over his head. He looked around but his vision was slightly blurry so it took him a few minutes to put everything into focus. It was still night and everyone had gone to sleep. He gingerly got up. As soon as he pulled the covers off himself he saw something move quickly across the quilt. He jumped upwards startled and then sighed. It was only a pigeon. He walked over to it and stroked it calmly. He noticed it had a note strapped to its leg. He neatly took it off and slowly read it.
Dear Rene,
I’m so sorry.
Faith
“Rene.” Filden voice was heard somewhat distantly in Rene’s head. “C’mon man, get up!” This time he aided the process with a swift punch into his forearm. Rene jolted awake and swore at his friend. He stood up and stretched before noticing that everyone was up and it looked as though they’d already had breakfast
“Jeez, what time is it?” Rene asked he decided not to tell them about the note, Dawn was packing bags already and Abigail was putting out the fire, Kamui was nowhere to be seen and Filden was sitting down leaning against a post.
“Gone noon, we let you sleep in.” Dawn informed him.
“What! You shoulda woken me earlier!” Rene shouted annoyed at himself for sleeping in so late.
“Hey don’t worry about it, you were beat after all.” Abigail told him smiling, she stood and pointed to a large tin-foil covered plate. “You’re breakfast and lunch is under there. Eat, as soon as Kamui is back we have to leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Faith sighed. The war meeting had been long and tiresome. She walked through the corridors of the Kinukoan castle heading towards her room. The walls were perfect white and light seemed to just float on them. There were old rustic pillars that didn’t seem to fit in but were beautiful also. She rounded a corner and took out her key. She went to open her door but as she put the key into the lock it swung open.
“Come in Faith.” Vrael said as Faith looked in cautiously. She nodded reluctantly and walked in “Take a seat.” He gestured to an empty chair. She sat down. She had still not said anything but she was prepared to attack if he tried to do anything and though she knew he would most probably kill her she wouldn’t go down without a fight.
“What is it you wish Vrael?” She asked through gritted teeth.
“Please. There is no need to be so modest Faith” Vrael told her with a sort of sinister smile.
“Fine. What the hell do you want and why are fuck are you in my room.” Faith told him rather loudly, she didn’t mean to swear at him it just sort of slipped out. He didn’t make any notion that he was offended or angry at faiths outburst.
“I just thought you might like to see a certain relative of yours, but if you would rather be alone then I shall take my leave of you.” Faith’s eyes widened
“Take me to her! Take me to Patricia! I swear if you’ve hurt her I’ll rip every bone out of your body!”Chapter 15: Faith’s reprieve
Faith was anxious as Vrael opened the door into the main holding areas. They walked past hundreds of thugs, rapists and murderers who were trying to reach out and grab a piece of Faith, and those were just the soldiers guarding the real filth.
“Just blow them away if they get on your nerves” Vrael told her smiling brightly, she didn’t know whether he meant the soldiers or the prisoners, either way they were both the same, vicious bastards with no conscience.
Some of the empires most wanted criminals usually ended up here, mass murderers and some of the most sick and twisted people. Vrael smiled at Faith as he opened a door into one of the private cells. A rustle was heard inside the cell and Faith ran in forgetting about Vrael.
“Patricia?” Faith asked gently to the sleeping form on the bed. Faith moved the quilt on the woman and smiled. It was Patricia. She had long brown hair, it was usually in a ponytail but prison didn’t usually give you that luxury, she was obviously quite fit and even though she was in a tiny cell she had somehow managed to keep fit. “Patricia, waaake uppp” Faith blew into her ear and the figure stirred.
“Fa-Faith?” Patricia asked quietly. Faith nodded. Patricia quite literally jumped out of bed and tackled Faith to the ground in a massive hug “Oh god I thought you were dead!” She was sobbing
“Sorry, ya can’t get rid of me that easily.” Faith told her smiling brightly with tears streaming down her face
“Guess I’ll have to try harder next time.” Patricia said half-laughing half-choking on her own tears. She composed herself. She stood up and brushed the dirt off herself and Faith. Always the mother, Faith thought to herself, she laughed at the thought. “So are you gonna tell me what’s been going on?” Faith’s face dropped and she almost started crying again but not as tears of joy but as tears of sadness.
“I… I guess I should tell you huh?” Faith said to her, Patricia nodded now slightly worried. Some things had now occurred to her.
“What are you doing here? Did they capture you? Where are your friends?” Patricia asked not giving her a chance to reply.
“Let me tell you everything that’s going on.” Faith said to her. So she told her, absolutely everything. Vrael had gone and left a single soldier to guard Faith and Patricia. By the time Faith had finished it was already dark outside and you could smell the lilies by the river about 200 yards from Patricia’s cell window. Patricia listened to this all nodding slightly and listening appreciatively.
“So what are we going to do?” Patricia asked her after she had finished. “We obviously have to get outta here.”
“We can’t, they’ll kill us both.” Faith told her seriously
“But we can’t just stay here and allow Rene and the others to think you’re a traitor!” Patricia shouted at her sincerely. Faith felt a tear run out of her eye and brushed it away.
“I know that… But I can handle being hated so long as I can help them not be killed.” Faith told her from the heart.
“Well if you ain’t gonna try to escape I am!” Patricia stormed. As soon as she said this she collapses onto her knees and sobbed. “Please Faith. We have to escape”
“Soon,” Faith told her, brushing tears from her eyes "I promise"
Lol I'm real glad I found it and all. I'll have to put it in my signature, 'cept me being the stupid idiot I am can't figure out how to make it into a name not a web address XD
Here's the next chapters
Chapter 16: Danger In The Wastes
“Not too far now!” Dawn shouted happily, it seemed as though the closer they got to the castle the happier she got
“Dawn! Keep sharp! The Rosalian wastelands are full of monsters remember!” Kamui shouted at her.
“Sorry Kamui!” Dawn immediately snapped to attention, causing Fil and Abby to giggle quietly to each other, Rene smirked and caught up with Kamui
“So what exactly are we going to be doing once we reach the castle?” Rene asked
“You’ll formally be introduced to His Royal Highness, King Julius Argexis.” Kamui said to him, Rene noticed that he was unusually alert and thought it best not to ask anymore question “There’s a festival soon, so after that you’re training will begin, you’ll learn all sorts of skills and magicks. Also you’ll be learning more swordsmanship skills but I’m unsure as to whom your teacher will be.” After this Kamui became silent. Rene pulled back his chocobo so he was level with Dawn
“What’s up Rene?” Dawn asked before he’d even said anything
“I was just wondering, what’s Kamui’s story?” Rene asked her as politely as he could, Dawn giggled and smiled at Rene
“To be honest I don’t really know much about him. According to some people, he just appeared one night in the middle of the King’s courtyard, ended up creating some massive crater. Can you imagine that? Destroying the King’s courtyard then becoming one of his closest allies and a warrior in his army?”
“How the hell does that work?” Rene asked astonished
“No idea, you’d have to ask him or the King. And here’s the kicker, that was over 20 years ago, and guess what, apparently he looked exactly the same as he does now.”
“He looks 17!” Rene exclaimed
“I know, better stop talking and keep an eye on the road.” Dawn told him, he nodded his head and kept a lookout.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Should take us less than an hour now.” Kamui told them, they’d stopped and there was 2 cliffs overshadowing them on the left and right side. “We have to leave the chocobos and walk the rest though, the passage up ahead gets too tight.”
“Aww…” Abby sighed, she walked to her chocobo and gave it a tender hug before saying her goodbyes.
“We have to stay alert, there are powerful monsters in this area.” As if too further his point, a loud howling was heard up ahead, then a yelp of pain and then silence.
“Grey wolves, usually they’re the predators, but it sounds they’re the ones being hunted, by a much larger monster too.” Dawn told the trio that looked completely dumbfounded.
“Don’t worry! So long as you’re with me and Kammy you’ll be fine!” Dawn shouted happily
“Don’t call me that and quieten down!” Kamui ordered, he had crouched down alongside the cliff wall, his ear was on it and he was listening intently. “Something big is heading our way.” He stood and drew his “true” weapons. A blade composed of what seemed to be light appeared in his left hand and a blade composed of darkness in his right hand. “It comes!” As soon as Kamui had said this a large shadow appeared in the sky jumping from the top of the cliff, it bore down on the group amazingly fast, Rene drew his sword and had to dodge roll to his right to avoid being crushed. The monster was a shaped like a lion only 15 feet tall and around 20 feet long. It’s body was golden and you could see the muscles rippling beneath the skin. It tails was longs and thin with a large flame at the end. The thing that terrified Rene the most was it’s face. The right side was green and mutant like with large wrinkles and purple lips, the eye was blood red whereas the eye on the left side of the face was shocking blue and the side of the face was golden like the rest of the body. It roared loudly and surveyed its new prey. It looked to Rene with it’s blue eye and growled, it turned towards him and clawed at him aggressively. Rene was so shocked by its appearance he only just managed to avoid most of the blow but felt a long jagged claw make it’s mark on his back
“Rene!” Filden shouted, he jumped high into the air and threw several kunais at the beast, as it growled in pain Rene spun round with his blade in hand and slashed the beats leg, Kamui leaped into the air, kick-jumped off the wall and slashed at its body with both blades before landing beside Rene
“You okay?” Kamui asked
“I’m fine.” Rene said angrily, he could feel the flames inside him rising.
“Don’t use your magic, you can’t control it yet!” Dawn shouted out as she fended off the beast, who was now attacking her.
“Listen to her Rene!” Abby shouted, she was glowing white and Rene felt the wound on his back seal itself up. She lowered her staff and retreated backwards to allow Filden to continue his attack on the beast. The beast was screaming in anger at the group. Rene jumped upwards and slashed at its face causing it’s skin to separate and bleed out viciously. The beast jumped up on it’s hind legs and bellowed.
“It’s calling for help!” Kamui shouted over the roar, as he said it smaller versions of the beast appear along the top of the cliffs and jumped down.
Rene jumped backwards avoiding being attacked by one of the puppies and stabbed it viciously, killing it instantly. He spun the blade in his hands and split open the belly of one of the beasts jumping over him. Filden was busy taking on three at once but Rene could see he was having no problem, Kamui was taking on the main beast single-handedly and Abby and Dawn was sticking together to keep each other protected. Rene heard someone shout out and saw who it was immediately, Filden had fallen and was on the ground severely wounded on his leg, the problem was evident as it was still biting into the leg. One of the beast had snuck up on him and bitten straight through his trousers into his leg. Rene sprinted to him and killed the beast.
“You okay?” Rene asked quickly before killing more beasts. They were beginning to be overrun by them now.
“Does it fucking well look like I’m okay!!!” Filden screamed at him. Rene grabbed him and threw him over his shoulder. He found a boulder and laid him down there so the beasts wouldn’t be able to see him
“Stay here, as soon as it’s over I’ll come back.” Rene told him, Filden couldn’t say anything without screaming so he just nodded as tears filled his eyes. Rene stood up and ran back to the others. It wasn’t going well, Abby had sustained several cuts on her arms which she was having trouble healing, Dawn was limping. Kamui seemed to be the only one unharmed. Rene rushed over to Dawn and Abby and helped take out there beasts.
“You two, Filden’s over there! He severely injured, you have to help him!”
“Got it!” the both said and rushed over to where Filden was. Rene turned towards the beasts. It seemed weaker but then again it looked as though Kamui was running out of energy quicker. He rushed over to him.
“Good… to see… you.” Kamui said out of breath. He twirled his blade and stood in his battle stance, Rene did the same. The beast roared at them and charged. The pair managed to dodge and watched as the beast skidded and turned.
“By the way! That thing is called a Cerberian, the smaller ones are it’s pups.”
“I thought they had 3 head?” Rene said confused
“That’s a Cerberus. Watch out!” The beast had charged again and they dodged once more. “I’ll distract it! You get on it’s back and deal the finishing blow!” Rene nodded and rushed so he was behind the Cerberian. Kamui used what little energy he had to fire a weak ball of darkness into it’s face. It roared in anger and crouched low, ready to pounced onto Kamui, Rene seized his chance and leaped onto it’s back. It reared upwards to try and shake him off but Rene was too quick, he plunged his blade deep into the space between it’s head and body. The beast yelped in pain and dropped, Rene rolled forward, pulling his blade out at the same time and got to his feet. He smiled and put his blade onto his back. He heard a groan.
“Fil!” He shouted, he ran to where Filden was hidden and gasped. The wound hadn’t been healed and instead of blood a sort of yellow pus was seeping out of the wound.
“Heal him dammit!” Rene shouted Abby.
“I’m trying! It won’t heal!” She shouted in desperation, her hands glowed blue over the wound but nothing happened. Filden groaned quietly and his eyes rolled into the back of his head.
“Kamui!” Dawn shouted scared.
“Cerberian poison. We must get him to the castle, he only has another 2 hours to live if we don’t make haste now.” He turned and walked towards a large crevice in the cliff wall north of them. Dawn and Abby followed in suit leaving Rene to carry Filden.
“C’mon buddy.” Rene said as he heaved Filden onto his back. He turned towards the others and jogged toward them. “You’re gonna be just fine, promise.”
~~~~~~~~~
The journey northwards wasn’t as dangerous as before but there was still danger, they were attacked by all manners of beasts and monsters but Kamui always kept a sharp eye and decimated them as soon as they showed themselves. After about 20 minutes Kamui stopped, they were on the cliff edge about 30 metres up from the ground overlooking the barren wastelands surrounding the city, in the distance they could see a large white castle in the middle of a sprawling city.
“It will be nightfall soon, if we do not make it by then the gates will be shut and Filden will stand no chance of survival.” Kamui said to Rene who had caught up with him, Filden was coughing madly on his back and Dawn and Abby were trailing behind, throughout there journey Abby had been whispering to Filden and trying to help him.
“Then what are we doing standin’ around for!” Rene shouted at him.
“It will be quicker if I take him and go ahead. I know these wastelands and it will take too long if we have to stop so you can catch up and gain your breath.” Kamui told him, he turned to Rene.
“You’re right… Take him and get there as fast as you can.” Kamui nodded and took Filden from his back. As soon as he did he jumped from the cliff edge. Rene turned to the others who had finally caught up “Kamui’s gone ahead, he’ll be quicker on his own.”
“We should hurry, we should get there in the next hour.” Dawn told him.
Aww, poor Filden. So typical of him to be the victim lol. Hope Sonny doesn't see that, haha ... good stuff. Rene's got a short temper, hasn't he, letting his powers nearly go out of control.
Until he learns to control them properly yes, that could take a long time which is why he just has to learn to control his anger so he doesn't endanger anyone he loves. Lol hopefully he won't see that or he will murder my arse, I have to wait for permission to use someones character before I put next chapter on
Well I got Julius' permission and i cba waiting for Zeria because I know she'll say yeah so heres the next two chapters
Chapter 17: Rosalia Castle
The white castle of Rosalia Castle stood high above them, Rene stood there shocked at the beauty of it, Abby gasped loudly, Dawn, who had seen it all before, just took it in her stride and kept walking. They had arrived through the gate that led directly into the castle gardens, walls stood 20 feet high all around them and the gardens were filled with such beauty.
“The Queen herself tends these gardens.” Dawn informed them
“What’s she like?” Abigail asked.
“You’ll find out for yourself soon enough.” Dawn smiled at her. They had passed through another gate now and was walking up the stone white steps leading into the actual castle, the exterior of the castle was marble white with the red rose flag flying in the wind. The interior was as white as the outside with guards in shining silver armour patrolling the corridors. People looked upon them as they walked and Rene noticed the looks of admiration and in some cases distrust and hate towards Dawn, he felt it rude to ask why so he just stayed silent.
“We’re almost at the throne room, once inside you’ll meet the King and her ladyship. Also you’ll most likely meet the general of the army and several council members. A couple of things you should know: Firstly, General Revvus is a proud man so try not to insult him or anything he does or he’ll take it personally and you’ll gain one of the more powerful enemies, secondly the council is a group full of backstabbing bastards that advises the King, why he keeps them so close I will never know. Anyway, c’mon let’s go.” She turned and knocked on the Throne Room door.
The door opened and white light spilled out into the corridor, Rene shielded his eyes and Abby turned away.
“Ahh Dawn! You have finally arrived!” A young masculine voice filled the air. The light subsided and Rene could finally see, the hall was 50 feet long with two chairs close together at the other end, in one seat was a beautiful young lady, she had long purple hair and deep purple eyes, her facial features furthered her beauty even more, her lips were slim and red, her skin was pale white but that didn’t put her beauty down at all. Rene could tell that she was around 5”8. She wore the royal gown which consisted of a long purple dress finishing just below her knees, the Royal tiara and plain black heels, he wasn’t sure but he could swear he could see a large purple Z tattooed onto her arm. She smiled at Rene motheringly. Next to her a young man sat in the other chair, he had dark brown hair and greenish grey eyes that seemed to glow golden in the centre, he was slightly taller than the lady and Rene could tell he was extremely powerful. He wore full armour which consisted of a steel breastplate, Rene could just manage to see a small sapphire encrusted in the centre with angel wings protruding from both sides, underneath the breastplate was a simple chain mail, he wore steel leggings, leg guards and arm guards and plain steel gloves, he was carrying under his arm a large steel helm.
“Yes milord!” Dawn confirmed, she walked towards the pair, Rene noticed that there was other people in the room, in the corner a group of people were arguing quietly.
“This the kid?” The lady asked.
“Yes milady” Dawn turned to Rene and nodded with her head to step forwards. Rene obliged and stepped forwards, he knelt down in from of the and bowed his head.
“Sir. Madam.” Rene said, the King laughed and pulled Rene off the ground,
“You do not have to bow down to us boy, we are equals to you. My name is Julius Argexis and this is my wife and lady, Zeria Iiyasei.”
“Welcome. And do not call me anything resembling lady or I will rip your balls off” Zeria said smiling pleasently. “I’m kiddin’…” Rene smiled
“Anyway, you two,” Julius said to him and Abby “You had best go check in on your friend Filden no?”
“Oh!” Abby gasped, she had completely forgotten about him. “Where is he??”
Julius smirked. “Are you two…?”
“No! We’re just friends!” Abby blushed.
“He’s just down the hall, I’ll have someone escort you to him.” Julius turned to Rene, “once that is done you and me need to talk about your future…”
Chapter 18: Trials
“Fil!” Rene shouted as he burst through the infirmary door. The room had a strange green glow made from using lots of healing magic, in the far corner Filden lay in a bed smiling at his comrades
“Hey…” Abby said as she walked up to the side of his bed, she brushed her hand against his cheek gently. “How’re you feeling?”
“Good, if it weren’t for Kamui getting here quickly I’d be a goner.” He leant back and half shut his eyes. “Hey Rene, heard you took down that beasty thing, nice job bro’.” Rene chuckled
“Thanks mate, I’m just glad you’re okay, get some rest alright?”
“No problem man, tired anyway…” Filden said as he shut his eyes and started snoring softly.
“I’m gonna stay here for a while,” Abby told Rene as he turned to go back to the main hall. Rene nodded and put his hand on her shoulder. “I’ll see you later.”
“See ya later sis.” Rene joked. He left the room. Abby turned to Filden, who was now sleeping softly, and kissed him on his forehead.
“I was so worried about you. I‘d never been so scared, I thought I was going to lose the one person that was more important to me than anyone.” She told him. She sat on a chair and held his hand, she lay her head next on his chest and closed her eyes, she was exhausted.
~~~~~~~~~
“So what do you want me to do?” Rene demanded as soon as he re-entered the main hall. Julius smiled at him. Zeria had left the room and Dawn was nowhere to be seen.
“Show me what you can do.” Julius ordered him, he drew his sword and waited for Rene to do the same. He obliged.
Julius threw the first strike, he sped forward with the most graceful ease and struck at Rene swiftly, he managed to block the blow but felt himself be pushed backwards by Julius’ sheer strength. Rene jumped forwards and immediately went on the offensive, he struck at Julius several times, every blow easily blocked by Julius’ blade. He struck at him and once again Julius’ blocked him easily.
The two swords were together close to both their faces sparking brightly.
“You are good Rene! But you try too hard at the beginning of the battle! You must ease into a battle gently or you’ll run out of energy far too quickly!” He pushed Rene backwards and surged forwards, he slashed upwards, Rene managed to block but the blow sent him flying into the air. He twisted in mid-air and felt his feet land against the roof, he pushed off and flew towards Julius, Julius was prepared and blocked the blow. He clashed his sword against Rene’s and threw it to the ground. He dropped down and kicked Rene’s fit from underneath him. He stood up gracefully and placed his blade against Rene’s neck.
“You show promise, I will be glad to teach you swordplay.” Julius told him. He sheathed his sword and extended his hand towards Rene. Rene grabbed it and felt himself pulled up from the ground. Julius walked over to Rene’s blade and picked it up. Julius smiled and extended the handle towards Rene. He accepted and sheathed it.
Even though he felt like shit from being beaten by Julius so badly, he was happy that he seemed to have pass this “trial”.
“Go and find Kamui, he should be in the castle’s Mage room. Just down the hall on your left.” Julius turned away and went into his chambers adjoined to the throne room.
Rene found Kamui after about 20 minutes and 50 wrong turns.
“Down the hall and on the left my arse, I’m practically on the other side of the castle.” Rene said as he knocked on the door. As soon as his fist left the door a loud blast was heard from within the room. Rene looked around at the guards and was perplexed when they didn’t so much as budge. One of the guards looked at him and signalled for him to go in. Rene did so.
As soon as he was in the room he gasped. The walls were scorched in places, a corner was pretty much made of ice, and the rest was just too unbelievable to even decribe. Only Kamui was in the room, he was dressed in a smart black suit. His short hair was slightly messy and his face was ash ridden on one side. Rene coughed to tell him he was here and heard Kamui sigh in annoyance.
“You know, it’s kind of obvious you’re there when you slam a door that loudly.” Kamui walked over to table and used a towel to clean his face. “I’ll be teaching you to control your magic and how to convert it into a spell, but before that I want you to show me what you can do.”
“I don’t know who to use my magic, I’ve only been able to use it twice and one time I almost died.”
“How did you feel when you used your magic when you almost died?” Kamui asked.
“Pure, white, blinding anger.” Rene told him “Alex threatened to kill the ones I love just to get to me and I couldn’t take that, I somehow managed to create a flaming barrier between me and Alex’s attack”
“You used a high-level barrier spell. It doesn’t take all the damage away but can get rid of up to 3 quarters of the damage, the spell itself didn’t almost kill you, the remaining damage did.”
“But if I almost died from that then what if I didn’t use my magic!?” Rene gasped
“You, your friends and whoever else Vrael had helping him would have been killed instantly.
“What is he?”
“He used to be just like you, the only problem was, he grew up in the wrong family, his father used to be a good man, then he was expelled from this kingdom and managed to rally many men and take over many counties creating his own country. After that he expanded till he stopped around 20 years ago. Now his son is continuing his legacy. Vrael could have been the best, now he is tainted by evil forever.”
“And it’s my job to stop him…” Rene said disheartened, if that attack almost killed his and he managed to get rid of most of the damage, then what if the next time he can’t use his power and gets himself and those around him killed.
“Not for a long time hopefully.” Kamui stood. “First lesson: Controlling your magic. This lesson will be continuous throughout your entire life. No one can truly completely control their magic, we can only get so far. Now I want you to calm yourself, release any negative emotion that could be lurking in even the most darkest parts of your heart. Find them and destroy them.”
Rene closed his eyes and steadied his breathing, he slowed down every function of his body and released himself. He opened his eyes and gasped, in front of him was a small red spark, pretty much the second he saw it, the spark disappeared.
“What was you thinking about?” Kamui asked Rene.
“Well firstly I thought about Filden and how guilty I felt that I couldn’t help him when he was hurt…”
“There was no way you could have controlled what happened to him Rene. You have to let go of your guilt. What was the second thing?”
“Faith… I still don’t know why she betrayed me.” Rene told him.
“Do you still love her, even though she betrayed you?”
“I don’t know why, but I know that she didn’t truly betray us. That’s why I still do love her, and that’s why I will find out why she left us.”
“Good, at least that second one was a positive feeling.” Kamui stood and lifted Rene up. “Lessons over kid, after a few more lessons, myself and Abigail will teach you spells. For now, go and see Lady Zeria in the gardens, she wanted you for something..
“Okay, see you later Kammy.”
“Don’t call me that…” Rene smiled and left the room.
~~~~~~~~~~
Rene heard the whistle before he saw the blower. Zeria was stood in the middle of the gardens waiting.
“About damn time! Jeez I thought Kamui had tied you up to a chair or something.” Zeria smiled, She was wearing a black leather sleeveless zip-up sweated and tight black leather jeans. Rene could see the big purple “Z” on her arm clearly now.
“Well kiddo, the reason I called ya out here is because, well, you look a bit of a mess. In case you haven’t noticed, you’re clothes are muddy, ripped and grimy. So first of all we get you some new threads, then we move on to gunmanship lessons.”
Rene smiled, he had quickly eyed up the two guns lying in cases on the ground next to her.
Now we're moving on to the stages where I haven't seen these chapters at all. I'm glad that Rene's got there safely and he will learn to control his powers. Keep it up!
Here's chapter 19 Faith, which mainly stars... YOU!
Chapter 19: Escape.
“So what’s the plan?” Patricia asked Faith weakly, they were sitting in Faith’s room with the TV set on loud so they weren’t overheard.
“Tonight, I’ll sneak out of my room and go down to your cell, I’ll knock out eh guard then release you.” Faith told her worriedly, she was certain they would be caught and tortured. “Then while we’re in the dungeons we’ll find a manhole and go down, then hopefully with the maps I’ve secured we should be able to break into the hanger bay and steal a light airship.”
“Is there anything you need me to do?” Patricia asked her.
“Don’t worry about anything, so long as you’re in your cell at midnight then you’re fine.”
~~~~~~~~~
There was a soft thump as Faith landed nimbly on the ground 2 stories below her window. She was dressed in her travelling clothes which consisted of a dark top and white overcoat with a long tail. She wore white baggy trousers and white gloves with white shoes. They were light so it was easier for her to move.
Hopefully, she’d still be given clearance to go into the dungeons. She walked over to the back entrance of the dungeon, a sort of wooden shed leaning into the ground guarded by two guards in dark grey armour. One held a spear in his right hand, the other had a sword sheathed on his waist.
“Halt!” The guard with the spear ordered Faith as she approached, he lowered his spear in an aggressive manner but did not attack. “Ma’am, we have been ordered to bring you to his royal highness immediately, you are a traitor and will be killed.” He chuckled .
Faith sprung into action, she released her psychic strength towards the spearman sending him flying into a pile of bushes, the swordsman reacted swiftly drawing his blade but did not understand the extent of Faiths power, she held him up in the air and threw him into a nearby wall knocking him out, the spearmen had finally got up and charged at Faith, she had no time to attack with her power so roundhouse kicked him in the stomach instead completely knocking him out.
She hid the unconscious bodies in the bushes and took the dungeon key. The stairwell downwards was dark and cold, it made her shiver, the thought of thousands of souls had been tortured till death petrified her as she made it to Patricia’s floor. If she was caught, that would most likely be hers and Patricia’s fate.
“You! Stop!” A guard shouted as Faith opened the stairwell door. Faith quickly dispatched him with a simple psychic blast, not realising that there was another two around the corner. They charged round at full speed and Faith only narrowly avoided them by jumping up high with her power. She spun in mid-air, sending off psychic blasts as she spun. The guards quickly fell. She took the keys from one of the bodies and found Patricia’s cell.
“Patricia! Wake up, I’m unlocking your door.” Faith told her, she saw the woman’s eyes shine with happiness.
“Faith! Thank god, they’re looking for you! I heard some of the guards…” Patricia’s eyes widened as she saw the guards on the floor.
“I already know they’re looking for me. They want me dead. Come on we have to get to the hanger and steal a ship.” They left the cell and quickly ran out of the corner. Faith took the map she stole from the castle library and studied it. “According to this map there should be a manhole just over there leading into the sewers.
They quickly found the manhole cover without anyone getting into the way.
“Fucking hell, that stinks.” Faith groaned
“How would you feel having to live next to it for as long as I have.” Patricia smirked, she quickly leaped down the hole “C’mon down! It doesn’t smell as bad down here.”
Faith groaned but went down anyway. “God I hate you! It stinks even worse down here!” Patricia chuckled.
“Shall we go? Or be captured by them and killed?”
“First option.” They went along the stinking sewers, avoiding the river of green sludge along the way. Every now and then Faith would check the map to make sure they were going in the right direction and every now and then she would punch the wall when she realised they were going in completely the wrong direction.
After a long time they finally found the hanger’s manhole, Faith pushed it open slightly to make sure they would get out unseen, there were only a few guards in the hanger but lots of cameras that would alarm the rest of the castle to where they were.
After about 10 minutes, they had a plan. Faith would go into the hanger and find the camera’s electronics, shut them down, take out the guards and secure a ship. Patricia would hide until everything was clear then get onto whatever ship Faith secured.
Faith opened the man hole cover and jumped out. She rolled sideways behind a few crates and gained her breath. She glanced around and spotted the hangers electrics. She raised her hand and lifted a spear laying on the ground nearby. She threw it into the electronics and smiled as the light went out and the cameras turned off. She jumped up and knocked out the guard coming forward to check what happened.
The others all spotted what happened and charged forward. Faith rolled along the ground dodging a bullet aimed for her head. She threw a spearmen at the gunsman knocking him off the ledge he was aiming from. The fall killed them both and now there was only two left. She couldn’t let them escape so she knocked them both out.
After the battle she glanced around, there was only two ships in the hanger at that time, a large freighter ship and a light 5-man cruiser. It was obvious what ship she would choose. She ran to the ship and pressed the open button on the panel next to the door. She heard the buzz saying her access was denied.
“Dammit.” She swore to herself, it looks like she’d have to find the unlock codes first. She looked around and saw the control room. It was a dead cert that the codes would be in there. She ran over to it and blew the door open. Inside a guard was sitting on the floor.
“Please! Please don’t kill me! I have a wife and kids! Please!” The man screamed terrified, Faith’s eyes lightened and she smiled
“I’m not going to kill you, I just want the ignition codes for the light ship.” She asked pleasantly.
“55-1XI” The man told him.
“Thank you.” She left the man alone. She ran back over to the ship and entered the code and sure enough it unlocked. “Patricia! Quickly come on out!” Patricia’s head appeared and she ran over to Faith. Faith looked at the ship properly for the first time. It was around 10 metres long and only 5 metres wide, it wasn’t very tall but fit both Faith and Patricia snugly. It had two long wings with two machine guns attached to each wing. Underneath the ship was a turret for a pilot to sit in and shoot.
“I’ll fly, you sit tight in the passenger area, we’ll probably et some resistance but we should out run them.” Faith told Patricia, she ran to the cockpit and started the engine. It whirred into life and Faith felt the entire frame shake into flight-mode. She flipped a few switches and turned on the take off field, which was basically a blue shield that lifted them into the air. “You ready Patricia?”
“Yup, I’m all strapped in, now can we get the hell out of here?” Patricia shouted over the intercom.
Faith opened the hanger bay door via the wireless switch and smiled as moonlight struck her face, in about 5 hours they would be nearing the border of Rosalia, hopefully where Rene would be. She eased the airship out of the hanger and flew into the air.
“Send 5 fighters to attack them.” Vrael ordered his air commander from his room at the castle, he smiled as the light airship sailed into the air.
“5 won’t be enough to take them down, a ship that advanced will decimate them.” The commander told him.
“That’s the plan, send the ships, we need to look like we want them back.” Vrael turned smiled to himself “We’re letting them leave.”
