But aren't there more total DS systems on the market than PSPs? PSP games can only sell to PSP owners, so even if Crisis Core is more popular, it can't technically outsell a DS game, no matter how hard it tries.
Yeah, that's actually the case for me. I bought a PSP mainly because of Crisis Core. I can see a few people playing this game and liking it even if they haven't played FFVII at all. I know a few people that I know would definitely enjoy it as the battle system is more action-packed.
I'm still in Chapter two and I'm already addicted.
That's the only reason why I want to buy a PSP, for CC. I'm still too poor to afford one though. My boyfriend's sister has a PSP and has bought the game. She doesn't even know what Final Fantasy is and she loves the game!
I bought my PSP back in 2005 JUST for this game really, that and the ability to run SNES emulators so I could play FF4 and 6 on the go too.
I'd be interested in seeing how this title stacks up overall to some of the other FF titles in terms of sales figures. Final Fantasy games do move hardware. I bought a Game Boy for Final Fantasy Legend (Yes I know it's SaGa, I'm just old school >.>). I bought an SNES for FF4(2US). I swore I would never buy a PSX back in the day due to what went down between Sony and the big N. I was crushed at the news that FF7 would be PSX onry (Sorry but I'm a bigger FF fanboi than I am a Nintendo Fanboi =P). I bought a PS2 to play FFX/X-2. I revamped my PC a ton just to play FFXI. I bought a DS for FF3. I bougt a PSP for CC (as previously stated). And guess what? I won't touch a PS3 until FF13 comes out. FF games move hardware. It's fact. And they sell well because they're made well. They raise the bar in gaming overall in terms of quality, game play, visuals, story and total experience.
A turd with the name "Final Fantasy" printed on it will sell copies upon copies of itself. Just look at that horrible FF12 Potion, I'm sure no money was lost in that venture despite it's rancid taste...
