So, obligatory plot and rpg nerdism, I tried to have some fun out of the game original plot when Squall is alone for a couple of reasons:

- He can have all GFs junctioned at the same, thereby having all the bonus.
- He can have all the Magic to himself, thereby maximum bonus.
- I don't need to control any other useless character while I'm at it and as Squall is always in the party the whole game, this is a great boost.

So what did I do was simply junctioning everything on him while farming outside until I had enough Magic to boost myself up pretty well, also managed to get Boost and SummonDmg + 10% on Shiva so that I could kill the T-Rexaurs efficiently. Water spells also work well as they junction amazingly well.

So, obligatory Diamond Dust spam, each T-Rexaur has like 18,500 HP and is weak against Ice. He provides you a Dino Bone or Dragon Fang when beaten, also like 750 xp and 10 AP, so it's whoa huge for the beggining of the game and by it I mean before and right after the SeeD test on that cliche communication tower.

After I got myself into a good lvl and also got Ifrit to have Str + 20% and Str + 40%, I junctioned Blizzara (M Mgc Upgrade) into my Elemental Attack, junctioned Thundaga (refine from quest item) into my Strenght, Curaga (refine from Tent) into my HP and a 100 Sleep into Status Junction, T-Rexaur got really easy to kill. I mean, come on, I strike for 2,300 and put him to sleep, thereby striking again with a chance to put him to sleep again, and again, and again. I also have 2,100 HP and good Vitality.

So now I'm here testing my patience until I get bored out of my skull of leveling Squall up here, also having Str Bonus +1 / lvl, which is kind of awesome, I'm lvl 28 right now iirc, and I have only 4 hours of game.

Opinions?

Look member:16991..........thats very impressive and worthy of praise, however its does not set up a very challenging game IMO.

Its like that time I leveled up all the members of the team during the Dollet SeeD mission to level 100 and maxed out all the GF's Abilities and even defeated the X-ATM982(?) 7 times to get every ability maxed out with 7 victories at 50AP a pop.

So its a very good feat, but remember there is always someone better and willing to go further......seriously there this guy in Sweden.......hes been doing the Dollet SeeD mission since 2000.

Im just kidding on that last part, but I mean it when I say dont make Sqaull so much more powerful than the others it kind of defeats the purpose.

There's an opinion for you!

Honestly I find myself doing this sometimes also. Not to the extent that you are talking about. After the Fire Cavern I drop Quistis off and go back out and farm AP from the Fastilions(I know I butchered that name :ffs: ) on the beach. Until I learn at least both Card Mod and Mid Magic Refine. With both of those learned I go and draw 100 of each magic until I have 100 of each Mid magic I can get. Then I might go learn a few more GF abilities and make my way back in Garden. There I will expand my Triple Triad card collection extensively by playing some very easy opponents first (so I can get some decent cards to play harder players) then move on to the players who have the rare card, the Quistis card, Mini Mog, and a few boss cards also. Then with handy dandy guide in hand I find out which cards I need to upgrade my weapon to at least the third or fourth upgrade. And that is how I start my FFVIII game.

I think that you started your game really good, and hopefully you have a fun time playing it. Enjoy!

^ Thank you!

By now, not playing it any intensively, I have Zell and Squall at lvl 100 with pretty junctions, Squall has 255 str and 255 magic, a couple Speed and stuff, Zell doesn't do much but he takes a long time to drop to low health too so he's somehow useful and Quistis is at like lvl 80 with already 180+ str and magic without any +% bonus.

Even though, Squall always finishes everything off with Lion Heart eventually

I find when i level up my charactors too much in the beginning that bosses become to easy and a 1 hit kill and to me i find it difficult to stay focused to the game because its too easy :'( but kudos on all the abilities learned you oviously know your stuff :)

My sister was playing FFVIII a while ago and she showed me her characters which were able to draw firaga, Blizzaraga and thundraga in Timber. She was leveled up a lot, I told her that she did good at what she did but then we got into a talk about it.

I stated that its possible to do several challenges and complete the game with ease. Those challenges are :

1. Low level challange, meaning not gaining EXP thanks to that card command. Boss battles don't give EXP, and anything else just run from.
2. All Cards Challange, meaning getting 1 of every card.
3. Lion Heart on disk 1. You just have to beat the T-rex I don't know if you can card him and get the required items or not.
4. 255 basic stats, 9999 HP

So whats good about a low level party? For one you can get the stat bonuses abilities from Jumbo Cactaur and raise your stats very well afterwards. This is good for a perfect game. This is one way of getting 255 stats for everyone. Incase you don't do a low level game, you can make "up" items from Esthers GF shop. It takes several refines. Say 10 HP-J scrolls turn into 1 HP up. That puts your HP up 10 without anything junctioned. Of course this requires a lot of money.

Ways to get money is to buy 100 tents turn them into mega potions by refining and then sell the mega potions. That will net you more money then what you started out with. What I do is keep buying 100 tents and refining them into 10 mega potions until I have 100 Mega P's. Then I sell the Mega Potions.

Now you will know that 1 stat that I recall stands out from the rest and that is vitality. It takes a three step refine and is a big loss in money. My way is to go to long horn beach and fight Adamantoise and devour them. This will raise your Vit. up 1 each Adamantoise. Plus you will recieve items that can be refined into Vit up.

Low level challenge beats spending billions and billions of gil any day. Either way with good junctioning you should be able to get 255 str. Vit. Mag. Sprit. 9999 HP, over 100% protection from all elements and good status defensive.
