About this ignorance is bliss thing . I think that its easier to manipulate someone thats got some knowlage (since thats what people with limited knowlage are taught to do in school) than it is to manipulate someone with out any knowlage straight off the bat. Since someone with knowlage might go to a new goverment autherised fact and go yeah i accept that since to my way of thinking works, while an uneducated person will go "what? i dont believe that prove it".
This is why i think that in schools in Britain we are taught to a cirtain standard and no more. we arnt surpost to know key facts in exams to pass not the explanation which should be done. This will groom us for future brainwashing.
 
So, if you can't beat them, might as well join them, i always shared an egoistical approach to life, maybe thats the way to go, be a leader instead of a mindless follower.......although i probably wouldn't mind either....
 
I just couldnt bear to be bossed about by other people. I just keep having the urge to ask why? or How?. Like when the "discovered" that the river Thames contained a source of estrogen ,the female sex hormone. The Goverment said that sciectists have proved that it wont effect anybody. Then they said that it came from a natural source.
Now if im not mistaken estrogen is a hormone produced by animals and cant be found naturally in rivers, so probably placed their by the goverment because oestrogen:
promote formation of female secondary sex characteristics
stimulate endometrial growth
increase uterine growth
maintenance of vessel and skin
reduce bone resorbtion, increase bone formation
Causes salt and water retention
increases colestrol in Bile
Helps sustain established breast cancer
But it helps with lung function (yay)

This doesnt sound good for Londons men.
 
Ha, good point, the Thames thing, thats pretty bad, but again, that ignorance is bliss idea, that sort of thing wouldn't really bother me, unless someone told me about it, then after evaluation, i would get pretty opinionated...
 
I think its a bit wierd that proper news stories are totally ignored, at best they are on teletext or on a sidenote on newspapers, but pointless stories like David Beckhams move to america. Who actally cares?
Then when they get experts on the news they manipulate what they say earlyer so it sounds really bad, like with the Bomb threats we've had recently in Scotland. They are saying that gas canisters are terrorist weapons. Fact, Gas canisteers are designed not to explode they have a platic safety valve on that melts/brakes if there is too much heat/pressure sending a jet of gas upwards, not exploding. As a matter a fact their have been cases of gas canisters being in fires and not exploding. An expert on sky news early in the morning said this, but sky news just happened to cut that bit out during other showings of that interview. Probably tring to get headlines or instill fear in the people. I think the later which will give public surport to restraints of our freedom in the name of "combating terrorism".
 
You are right, the public is in a comfortable position of ignorance, a lot less extreme verion of the matrix if you like, where the 'people' are living in a world created by the top brass. I found myself wondering why i don't question all the information given to me in the slightest...its just convienient, and like you said before, the clever ones in our society are just paid off....
 
Yeah all the cleaver guys are paided off, but the reason why you dont question the information is due to the effect of our schools. Like ive said we have been groomed not to question any new information and if we did it wouldnt be rewarded it will be punished or ignored. the schools are used to program us for the rest of our lives to make us easier to manipulate. for example i had a teacher in year 4 tried to tell the class that the sun orbits the Earth and yet no one questioned it except me , and that was only because that i talked about it with my dad the week before.
 
Exactly, basically about 90% of what we 'know' has been given to us by the society, when we're born we are just an 'empty' being, ready to be shaped.....as the human brain is so large, we are very easily influenced mentaly, maybe even about 90% of our personality is due to the influence of our background, whilst the rest is purely genetic...as for the human basic instinct, is very weak, we don't have to compete in the wild in order to survive anymore, so theres no need for it, compared to say, a wild bear.....
And yeah, its very scary, how half the 'facts' told to me during my life, i can't even prove because i'm not clever enough....damn education...
 
Its hard to go against the trend, its like holding back the tide. You try and do what you wanna do or not do. You are indoctrinated by hypocrits for over 10 years of your life during an very influential phase, where you are as you say molded. During time not a school advertisements and programs screw with you mind. Then when you with a group of people and they ask you stupid questions and say your wierd for thinking differently. So its very difficult not to do what the goverments want you to do.
 
With all this crap in the world, the best thing is to play the 'game' by the 'rules' society has created, like staying out of trouble, and getting an education. I don't really care about things like that, i'm only finishing college as a possible life line, so i can fall back on it in the future, to get a decent job, a the minute i'm only interested in things that are real, and i can experience, like i dunno, travelling, and basically doing things that i honestly enjoy doing...don't care what anyone tells me....i'm not some sort of a philosophical hippie either, well not a hippie anyway.......as for playing the 'game' well doing what society tells you to do, perticipate in the upkeep of captalism,....

I sure hope that no mod looks at this thread, its gone way of topic and probs will get closed......so anway....i heard America is trying to build new ICBMs sponsored by McDonalds.......hmm
 
This is the 40th post of just me and you talking about the goverment screwing us and all that. I would of thaught someone else would of posted in that time, but what can you do?
Your right about having to play the game. you try to fight the man eventually the man will start fighting back. Its pointless to try since the majourity of people are to busy thinking that they are the main charactor in a soap opera or a film. Thinking that they are the most important person in the universe. when infact they like the rest of us are hairless apes sat on a giant spining rock, swinging round a giant ball of nuclear energy in a ever expanding universe which could collapse at any time and destroy us all. Personally I think their worlds a bit better than my bleak picture.
Yes back to topic of cold war, well it will happen when russia is stronger.
 
Geez, that is a rather bleak view of things, but realistic, the most exciting part, is the bit that the universe can collapse in on itself at anytime, as horrible as it sounds, it would look cool.......hmm..., it has been pretty much proven already that there is an infinte number of parallel universes, so that would mean they are in different dimensions........anyway......i cant really blame the 'top brass' for controllling everyone like they do, i mean i would do the same thing in their place.....that is if i actually wanted power, but i just can't understand what drives these people at the very top.....surely its not money, is power really that important?
 
People just arent satisfied with what they have and let other people get on with what they want to do. They ether want the power and the control and abbility to feel higher than others, is what it boils down to in my oppinion.
 
So you mean to say, we are controlled by a bunch of clever madmen...., thats funny because its actually true, and no one gives a damn, after thinking about all this, i have started noticing how others around me do not think 'outside the box' or wonder about things like i do..., for example the recent foot and mouth outbreak in the UK, i told my parents that it could be the government's doing, clearing up the Britsh country side for land, or space to grow biofuel.....they thought the idea was radical, and they couldn't even imagine it......oh well, about 2/3 of the population is like this .....
 
I was thinking the same thing. Release foot and mouth and wipe out the UKs last remaining industries. Forcing us to be reliant on the european union. This will force our food bills up and the price of living will then rise until we all bar pollitiacians are living off benifits which equalls a communist sorciety.
I think that The people who lead us are morons brown ,bush and others are more than likely figure heads designed to take the flack and come up with crap laws that arent important, whilst the real leaders are the executive securities who dont change in a change of goverment. they come up with the major changes based on their positions and the econamy

Even more relient on the EU?, why would Britain want that, they are already up their necks with all the imigrant worker crap, if all the foreign workers would suddenly leave, it would take a long time to recover.....Britain is by far not one of the major players in the EU, its not getting as much of a benefit from it as some of the other nations involved in the EU, so why do they continue to stick around?, have they actually got somekind of longterm plan?


 
Britain doesnt but people in power do want to be more reliant on the EU. I think the EU wants to be a superpower by amassing food, technology and money. all of which britain has or rather had until we joined the comman market. there we lost all of those things and i think europe will suck us dry and throw us away since we havent been the best of friends over the years.
 
Geez, so whats in it for the politicians, wht do they wanna be relient on the EU? ....at least Britain decided not to accept the euro, not through wanting it badly though, just scared because the public would go mental if it happened...EU, a superpower, thats a scary thought, like a big confused retarded child that doesnt know what it wants.....but seriously, the elite countries in EU would control or use the smaller ones, thus creating a large new 'nation' in all but name...., now if they just get Russia on their side, the EU would be an unstoppable economic machine...
 
The EU basically wants to suck britain dry so that they can become a superpower and challange the US and the USSR. And britains goverment is probably on the eus payroll. Since the US is basically an impenitrable fortress and russias got china and is well russia i doubt they will want europe. Both superpowers will do what europe has done to us and suck it dry. but ether way britains a sinking ship.
 
Thats nice, so the world is still a playground for the superpowers...its sooo poitless if you think about it, i dont know why people are putting up with the current state of the world, if everything is going straight down the shitter....they are easily satisfied, i know i am, and i don't know if thats just me, or its the society's fault for restricting my thought....i envy those people that manage to spend all their time down the pub, just watching football.........oh well.....
