Right if you had read th news in the past week you will know that Britain and Russia are not the best of friends right now. People are talking about a second cold war and if you don't know what the heck am on about then read this page.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6902046.stm

and if this in the wrong place am sorry and soz for the bad grammer and spelling.

I as going to make a thread of this lol.
Personally I dont know what tot hink about this. I did hear on the radio that Brown had declred war on Russia, which freaked me out as it unsettled me. I just hope that Brown hasnt declared war as we're having enough trouble with terroists.

No he has not declare war on Russia (I think)but Russia said they will not help Britain combat against terroists and if Brown declare war on Russia the united nations would step in.

Well thats what I heard on the radio ths afternoon because I was shocked that Brown would jump to such a decision so fast.

Yeah the media in Russia says that Brown declare war and to say that United nations would not allow it.

I hope that we don't go to war with Russia because conscipion would be enforce in Britain.

^ Conscription? didnt know they did that... maybe its because so many soldiers are spread out around the world...

Yeah war with Russia isnt gonna be a walk in the park like Iraq... Theres gonna be some serious casualties

They don't do Conscription know but if war did break out then that would be another story. War with Russia would mean a nuclear war. and way are talking about war with Russia things have not gone that bad yet if its like the last cold war then nothing will happen in the end.

Oh jeez people, there isn't gonna be a nuclear war.
Firstly the 'first' one hasn't finished yet, it just changed, Countries are still arming themselves for no reason and people are still living in fear.
As for this crisis, its obviously a very delicate situation for both countries, maybe even including America, the British are annoyed that
Litvinenko was killed on British soil, but they can't get their hands on his supposed killer. Maybe Litvinenko had some important information that he was trying to share with the USA and their lackeys Britain. Anyways neither countries want war, Russia certainly isn't prepared for one, the expulsion of the diplomats is as far it will ever go, and both Counties know that. Plus all this counter terrorism babble is just a lot of bull. This is only my own opinion, anyone care to debate?:P

Oh and kudos to Sonic for this topic!

Well i grew up in Britain, and English is my main language now, i have come to appreciate the British public's apathetic view of politics, only to a point where something goes wrong, then suddenly everyone is interested. This sorta makes it easy for the British government to control the BBC, not so much these days though. Anyaways, Russia's move was just a logical one, a simple retaliation, they're not about send their submarines into Blackpool. But i have to agree that Russia could have made this into a more open enquiry, after all we're Russia's allies and Litvinenko has died on our soil. Russia's hostile attitude about this only proves the importance of Litvinenko. Oh and if i was in Britain's position i would be one of America's lackeys, because as much as i hate to say it, they have the two main currencies in the world, firstly oil, and when that runs out, arms and capability to start wars to profit from these arms.

In the next 10 years Europe will be under Russian Control for 1 simple reason. Russia supplies Europe with practiclly all of its gas, which means it can cut all of our energy at any time, which they have already done over some minor matters with other European states. This means if we dont comply with russian intrests our people will suffer. THANK YOU THE EUROPEAN UNION. If that doesnt happen the money that we'd pay them will help rebuild the USSR, and cause trouble with the US leaving us Europeans too suffer, since we havent secured any new forms of logistical fuel sources.
This thing thats happened recently wont effect things that much in my oppinion.

Good points Johnny Mo, Russia have fuel, but thats all they've got......
As for the USA leaving, Europe is too important as a valuable capitalist economy, so USA will just buy Russia off with some oil and that will keep them quiet, i heard they did that recently in Noth Korea.

I think as long as the political classes of the USA are secure for the forseeable future, the US wont care what happens too Europe. If it serious endangers the US they will help us but personally i cant see it happening. I think the reason we invaded Iraq is for its vast oil supply and the EU has secured a new gas supply from katar, too help prevent russias quick rise too power. But our politians didnt bet on Chinas boom in its econamy, due to cheap labour used by the west. The chinese also live as communists, who will soon have the power too confront the west.
Also the resons i wont bet on the americans helping Europe is 1. during world war II they didnt help out until they were attacked and used the war too kickstart their econamy after the depression.
2. they didnt help out much during the Falklands war, which the Brits could of used.

Whoah, i totally agree with everything you just said, especially the WWII bit, and how the USA used it to benefit their economy, and yeas China is already immensly powerfull, ironically being a communist country, it plays a massive part in the economies of capitalist countries, something Russia never did. It will certainly compete with America.

One of the main reasons why the communist USSR collapsed is due too the sanctions the west put on them. I do think its ironic that in history lesson we are taught that the russian people where forced into doing what they did and were propagandarised into thinking whatever the politicans want them too think. When all of this happens in America and britain but too a far worse extent. We in britain have the most survalance in the world , ever, under the banner of terrorism. people have cirtain home truths held back by the media. our Right too protest have been reduced. Our goverment has a version of the enabling act, which Adolf Hittler used. This is just the tip of the iceberg i could say sooo much more but i dont want to rant.

Oh, i see the British Government's secret plan now!
Firstly, sabotage the education system by being grossly politically incompetent, Then flood the BBC with crapppy dumbed down mediocre tv shows.....Control the public through the magic of strictly come dancing-while everyone watches that, there will never be any need for political spin!:P

^^^=ABSOLUTE CENSORSHIP

I'm gonna fight the system now & watch University Challenge

p.s. I kinda strayed from the topic here....sorry
