I love this show. My boyfriend and I are halfway through the second season, and I just love it.
It's hilarious, the characters are entertaining, the actors are fucking great to watch, but there is one major flaw, and it happens to be a very popular flaw in television and movies; the female characters.
They're written so poorly. They're unrealistic, have a mystery that the show hardly acknowledges and never digs into, and they're portrayed as a persona rather than a personality. Britta is fake, Annie is in denial about herself and Shirley is a Christian who tries too hard to be good hearted. I get the concept and it's a good idea, but....that's all these characters are. They are no more than this. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't develop by the end of season 3, which is the last season.
But like I said, this isn't a unique flaw. Most nobody can write for females, and it's something that I've learned to live with, no matter how bad it sucks. I'm just glad we have Quentin Tarantino.
