Okay, I got this game yesterday on pre order and it's fantastic, much better than I thought it would be, anyway.

The Command Board is (as far as I know, feel free to correct) where you can get different cards and upgrade random ones from your deck, the thing what I want to know is, for those who've played it so far. Do you like this aspect of the game or dislike it?

I know someone who described it as Monopoly yesterday, and it does have similar aspects to it, however i've found it far closer to Sugoroku from Samurai Warriors 2. (I tried to find a decent youtube vid of it but couldn't find any)

I thought I wouldn't enjoy it at first, but as I had a few goes it became more and more fun, it tends to level your deck up quite a bit.
You can unlock new boards by doing specific things too, so it's not the same one throughout. (You unlock them by
completing worlds mainly
I think)

Still, what are your thoughts on this rather different minigame?

I gotta be honest, I find it too confusing, and if anyone has a FAQ on how this is suppose to work, please forward it to me.

As well, I don't quite get what's the purpose of it. I can level up abilities pretty fast in battles, so why would I need to use this board? :hmmm:

I dunno, but it's a big ball of gayness to me :monster:

But it does have some Arena Records you need to complete for 100%, so I guess there's that.

I don't fully understand it myself, but I think it allows you to get abilities early if you have the patience for it. (and a bit of luck/if you really wanted to)

Yeah, I noticed that, but i've already done a few games of it and I swear it hasn't registered them, I think you have to actually play the game at the desk menu in the mirage arena.

Also, I think that since Critical mode has a Level 1 option (Zero Exp from the start) this would help in getting your abilities rather than fighting, I guess that could be one positive use of it if you wanted to do that challenge.

Yes, that is correct. When I first beat Rumble Racing with Terra I did not get the achievement thingy until I did it in the Arena.

I enjoy it. It's a fun way to get away from the all the fighting and such and still get something for it.

Then again, I'm not overly great at games, and I'm stuck on Terra and Ventus. I'm still working on Aqua till I get stuck...

Still though, the Command Board is fun. I've only lost once, and beyond that I've won every round.

In my opinion: Leveling D-Links, and sometimes skills in Neverlands are sometimes much more fun to do than the command board (because your doing something than throwing dice), since sometimes it might take some time just to get the required GP.

Heh, it seems you can take other characters abilities. I haven't done it yet myself, but I was thinking "when do I learn double-jump in the game", and noticed Tigger has the double-jump ability in the command board. Maybe some moves can only be learned on the command board?

Yeah, that's true. Some abilities can only be picked up on the command board from bonus boards, but for the most part, its only shotlock commands :/ More specifically ragnarok. And the game's not all that terribly confusing, its just annoying on some levels cuz your opponents spam abilities like two or three dice and end up getting a crapload of points before you even get to the first checkpoint.

I've not really played it that much except those four or so games I had the other week, but I think I should give it a go sometime if I want to get those special cards.

I think it's going to annoy me if they decide to either a) start spamming the abilities or b) constantly take over the slot I want, it seems a bit down to luck. Here's to hoping I don't start hating it when I pick the game up again.

Yeah, gave it a try today, and I officially do not enjoy it. Can't say I hate it as other mini games I've played, but I didn't have fun with it :/

Eh, I don't have problems with them using a hand unless they pull a joker. Then they use this really annoying crap that's generally stun or confuse and plays all hell with my strategy...

Though for the most part it's fun. It got me Ragnarok, which I dub the best shot-lock, ever. It also is a great way to kill time on the bus when you don't want to beat the ever-loving hell out of the Unversed

I think i'm going to give it another try some time, since I hate missing out on optional things. (Which generally end up being the best things, also.)

The first few maps of it didn't bother me, but I played the 100 Acre Wood map and Tigger was horrible for command spamming, so i'm not looking forward to the later ones. Anyone played any of the later ones?

I thought it was kinda fun, but not something I wanted to grind on for hours. And at later points in the game you can master any command in a few short minutes. Fortunately for me my gf is addicted to command board so she plays it like no tomorrow in mirage arena for me lol XD Does anyone know if things in the CB like leveling up panels effects how much CP they get at the end of the game?

I have no idea how the EXP thing works in it for the cards. I just assumed it was random, i'll just guess it'll be how much gold/munny/whatever you put into the panel by the end of it and what level it is in the game. The more expensive starting ones are REALLY hard to keep levelling I find, they cost absurd amounts.

It would make sense though. :hmmm:

The OSG suggests that there are only 2 levels of CP to recieve: Winning/Losing. But, idk it seems like my Aqua when she's at the beginning of the game received alot less (playing in mirage arena on boards she doesn't actually have unlocked yet) than Terra did towards his endgame.

note- On your second and third characters, if you go to mirage arena you can play all boards because of the first one you beat the game with, doing this will unlock the secret board right at the start of the game outside the arena :D

There's a special board? :jess:
That's news to me, just shows how much I actually played it.XD
So, who knows what the special 'Command Board only' cards there are? I think I know of Ragnarok so far and that's it, apart from that i'm a bit clueless, anyone?

I should really play this more when I get back into the game, I get the feeling i'm missing some pretty goods stuff.

I'm replaying BbS on Proud mode because I don't have the patience to do all the stuff to get the secret ending, and playing the board one more time, I actually don't hate it as much as I did before.

I think the dice rolls are rigged against you (seriously, singles 3 times in a row? -__-) but I have a better grasp of the game now. I still prefer battling for CP, but I'm willing to give the board more consideration now.
