I don't think who will win, I know. Cloud has defeaten Sephiroth twice on his own. However, had Sephiroth not become overcome with arrogance in the battle with Cloud in Advent Children, he surely would have won. Tethar brought up the point that Cloud was huffing and panting, whereas Sephiroth was calm, cocky. But he became too cocky to stay focused and that's when Cloud delivered the final slash(es).

Sephiroth pwns all ;)
 
Cloud defeated sephiroth 3 or 4 times I think, so still Cloud

Also, Sephiroth wasn't beaten by Cloud 4 times. Bizzaro and Seraph Sephiroth were clones - the original Sephiroth was the topless one (FFVII) and the reincarnate one (FFVII:AC)
 
No matter what, Cloud can still defeat Sephiroth in any matter. Have you forgotten where Cloud defeats Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts? Although I'm not sure what happaned in KHII.
 
KH is a dis to all Final Fantasy. And the topless Sephiroth is Seraph Sephiroth. Sephiroth Owns. Cloud only wins cause he si the hero and the hero always wins in this stuff. If neither were hero or villan Sephiroth would win.
 
I vote Cloud, since he whooped Sephy's butt a couple of times.

But, if this were based on Storyline, and not fighting ability, my vote would automatically go to Sephy.

Cloud pwns, his sword is bigger o_OU I couldn't think in another thing :P.
But he defeated Sephiroth a lot of times :D, So why don't give Sephiroth his winning here?

though sephy is da man and what not ill go wit cloud........he had to get over the 'stop feeling sorry for yourself dammit and start fucking fighting' phase. Why the hell didnt sephy kill emo cloud will he was to busy being emo? So yea! Kinda dumb doncha think? so cloud kill the idiot! Dont give a damn! I mean if a guy who could cut half a building with one slash of his sword but didnt just take off the emo in two seconds! Then he is a idiot and the idiot will always lose!

I was referring to the one Cloud faced alone, with no help. But yes, you're right: Seraph Sephiroth WAS topless too.

Because Sephiroth wanted the pleasure of taking away everything that Cloud held dear, he wanted to cause pain and suffering, not just end his meaningless life.

Cloud is a failed clone of the real deal, Sephiroth. Hojo cloned Sephiroth because he was undefeatable, but didn't count on one of the clones defeating Sephiroth himself. In other words, it's Hojo's fault, the blame goes towards Science.

But Hojo is dead, which is good for Vincent and Sephiroth, so everyone's happy. Except Cloud.
 
This depends on two things.
Either storyline or actual skill.

Square are somewhat typical in there stories so in terms of storyline Cloud will win as he is the good guy.

In terms of skill Sephiroth would win as he is supperior in skill and power.
This is stated in the Reunion file and therefore can not be argued with as it is straigtt from the creators mouths.


There is one other point aswell.
Even if Cloud wins, Sephiroth can not die. His will is so strong that he can not be absorbed into the planet. This is stated in the Omega guide so is also true. Also due to his Jenova heratige he can recreate his body and return to this world.

So ever if Cloud wins, Sephiroth will always return for he is truly immortal. Cloud is mortal and will one day die. All Sephiroth needs to do is wait as only Cloud can defeat Sephiroth, so eventually Sephiroth wil win as no one will be able to stop him.
