Ok, each time I beat the game I get the bad ending which is the beginning of the credits after beating the fused forms of the "Devourer of Time" (Lavos) and Princess Schala. While searching, I stumbled across a few ways to get each of the many alternate endings (yes, the fact of still having the Time Egg when starting a New Game + does have a reason).

Bad Ending: Kill The Devourer of Time along with Schala
Good Ending: Cast spells in the following Elemental Order:
-Earth
-Fire
-Forest
-Water
-Gravity/Dark
-Light
-Chrono Cross
This results in releasing Schala and defeating the Devourer of Time with the "Chrono Cross".

Now I found out another list of endings (In New Game+) :
1st Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before talking to Lenne and without having Pushul in your party.

2nd Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before entering Viper Manor for the first time.

3rd Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before Fort Dragonia, and before being transformed into Linx. Nikki and Razzly must be in your team.

4th Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before transforming into Linx with any team.

5ft Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before rescuing Riddle in the Viper Manor.

6th Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time in Hermits Hideout before Harle abandons your team.

7th Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before slaying FATE Supercomputer. Must have the Mastermune.

8th Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time before slaying FATE. Without Mastermune.

9th Ending: Defeat the Devourer of Time in Terra Tower (not sure about it0 before transforming back to "Serge".

Now, I would like to know if others knew, have done or are still trying to find out the alternate endings. Also, does anyone knows a way to play the game other than buying a PSX copy? I have one, but I can't find a Memory Card (PSX) to buy it in order to play the game. :brooding:

There's always roms and emulators. Not sure of any other way....

I've only beat Crono Cross once by playing all the way through and getting the good ending. I've started a new game + but haven't beaten it again.

I played through to get most of them, but too long ago to remember most of them.

You could find an ISO file somewhere on the nets and transfer it to your PSP memory chip...if you has one.

I usually always get the same ending...blast if I can remember the ending I always used to get after all these years. I pretty much always play the game the exact same way. XD

I only beat the game once, used a walk through to get the good ending, but I'm not motivated to play the game again any time soon.

But I never new about the various endings; I only knew about the first three.

Because you must cast a spell in an exact order and then use the Chrono Cross element (hence why it was given to you) to get the Good Ending. By killing Lavos without the Chrono Cross, you unwillingly kill Princess Schala at the same time.

Yeah, your goal isn't supposed to be to defeat the Devourer of Time, but to separate it's component parts (the remnants of Lavos & Schala) before it ever comes into existence, effectively erasing it from all time...so, yeah, I knew about the alternate endings too...though I'm also just a fan of the series in general...it's next to impossible not to have played CT & not understand New Game+ and the extra endings...heck, even Radical Dreamers had a similar extra scenario feature (totally some of the BEST in the series, actually).

The only thing that saddens me is that the Chrono Trigger/Cross series died, mostly because Square-Soft (now Square Enix), decided to concentrate more on the Final Fantasy series and allowed one of the greatest stories to disappear so easily.

What I enjoyed the most was the many alternate endings, because it gave you a good reason to play it over and over again. I like FF games, but after beating them I just don't get enough enthusiasm to play them again.

Oh, just noticed this and, since my inherent nitpicker attitude won't allow me to overlook it...

The Chrono Cross Elements aren't divided into these "types", which are more in line with the Magic Elements of Chrono Trigger. The CC Elements are divided into color: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, & White. I say this because you say Yellow as "Earth", when it also includes "Lightning"-based Elements...Green, you say is "Forest", when it not only includes plant-based Elements, but also "Wind"-based ones...You call Black Gravity/Dark, which I suppose is mostly right...White you call "Light", but it includes heavenly bodies as well, like Meteorite, MeteorShower, & UltraNova (though I suppose you could count that last one as 'Light'). Besides Red & Blue they sure have stupid combinations...

Also, I don't know if it's ONLY the FF series they've been focusing on since Chrono Cross...I mean, that was 8 years ago, y'know? It was 4~5 years before that when Chrono Trigger & Radical Dreamers came out...I think they just haven't really focused on the series at all...But there's also THE RIGHT TEAM to think about...You need Kato & Mitsuda at least for the series (I'd personally add Toriyama back in the mix though)...
