so I had about 15 shots of a Chinese liquer called Baiju (54%) and I am smashed writing this but I would like to share. Its very different from a normal wedding.
I walked into a room with about 30 circular revolving tables caped with all kinds of wierd ass food, ranging from duck, stomach, tofu, and even common dishes... about 12 dishes per table all together.
The similarities are few between a western and American wedding. Instead of throwing a bouquet, they have a little fake bow and arrow they shoot at their best friends.
Traditional Chinese instruments. They played a song I thought was originally from Final Fantasy....but found out different. Its the song from FFVII where they flashback on Aeris growing up as a child and also Tifa and cloud sitting by the well.
During the ceremony the bride and groom change outfits FOUR times! and during one part they have to walk over an apple and a small fire... it signifies meaningful things that takes too long to explain.
500 people....they give only cash as presents. They all look at me because I will be the next person to get married into that family and its some wicked pressure, and a lot of people trying to get me wasted.
Afterwards I saw the most amazing fountain show in the world (located in Huhot). It features over 700 hundred fountains propelled in different directions and some of them are taller then skyscrapers, the biggest in the world. Its coupled with intense laser lightshows that even project videos into the water mist.....pretty amazing.
Anyway thats some of the finer points, I hope you enjoyed it. thank you for listening
