Hey i've just restarted FFX again and got all the way to yunalesca and wiped her out with ease, however i forget that afterwards ou have to go down the stairs to collect the suncrest for tidus's caldbolg, anyways after realise what a stupid mistake i have made i went back to get it only to run into none other than Dark Bahamut, so now i cannot get it with out being completely anhilated.....help

Ah yes...this happened to me. I couldn't be bothered to start again, so I trained my characters up to defeat him. I substituted the watered down Caladbolg for the Excalibur..even though it was substantially weaker.

Your other option is the use Zanmato with Yojimbo...but where's the fun in that?

the only way i know to get it is by defeating dark Bahamut
don't get scared there is away to do that easily ;
if you have yujinbo in your party go to that place and summon hem and pay hem about half amillion gil eg(494503 , 519027) and if you were lucky he will lounch Zanmato attack which kills any monster with one hit
in case he made another attack but Zanmato restart the try and change the price you payed and keep trying until you defeat hem

Where is this Dark Bahamut coming from?

Every Aeon in FFX has a "Dark" version, summoned by Yevon people as your branded a traitor, pretty tough bosses, once you've killed them all, you can fight Penance (he comes up as a location on the airship) for a lengthy frustrating battle lol.

ok got bored of trying to take out bahamut decided to start the game again a cpl of days ago and eventually got to yunalesca again and this time i made sure i got the crest so now i am going to train my people up and get my sweet revenge on that S.O.B

I wouldn't say you were totally doomed, judst inconvienienced. I never really used Tidus all that much so it wouldn't have mattered to me all that much, Dark Bahamut is an absolute MARE though, so if you decide to carry on don't expect to be beating him anytime soon. The little twat can petrify you and totally disregards aany stone proff you might have on your armour >_> best bet would be getting the 99 Dark Matters to make a ribbon, or hope some boss or other drops some armour with it on

Also use aeons to take the overdrive and remember that he usually follows it with a basketting impulse attack. Ugh......you might just be better off restarting. I can't counthow may times he handed me my arse before I finally showed him who was boss. It wasn't just the characters that did a victory dance after that battle >_>
