Sooo I decided to go and buy a dazzle the other day soo I can capture my xbox 360 to upload to the internet :P

anyway does anybody own a dazzle and if soo what the best way to get high quality :) without any kind of problem or not being able to see text :)

Hey, I have a Dazzle and am using it right now :)
Personally, I just use normal composite cables that come with the ps3 and set the ps3 to that. I never got the HD Dazzle though, so maybe I can't help you with that :)

Is Dazzle compatible with component cables?

I know the previous recording system I had was not, and while the text was fuzzy it wasn't too far gone (Pinnacle movie box thingy, a variant of their Dazzle line I think).

If it's possible and you're serious about your recording then upgrading to the component cables is definitely the way to go. The quality is very, very different and you will be happy you did so.

If it is NOT possible or you simply aren't to big on your quality then there are a few rules of them you may want to keep in mind.

1) Find out what kind of resolution your Dazzle records in. Why? Well, chances are the video will need to be fitted to YouTube (assuming that is where you will put your videos?) and you don't want to be recording with SD "box" dimensions as it is NOT appealing on YouTube and will slap some black bars all around it to fill that space.

2) Don't be afraid to run a ton of practice videos just to test for different kinds of qualities. Same goes for uploading, don't be afraid to test and see what it looks like online. In the end, if you aren't familiar with video formats and resolution you may be very happy you did so!

3) After recording videos, if you're gonna tamper with the video, remember that upscaling sacrifices quality! :)

Component cables example, note this was not done with Dazzle but with a Hauppauge HD PVR:
