Multiple Platforms Capcom Announces StreetFighter IV

Finally got to pick it up on friday this game is awesome till the point you have to fight seth its pretty much bull since the first round is easy and then second one he just teleports non stops and grabs and does sagats uppercut.I was playing it on med so that explains alot good thing was I unlocked Sakura D:

I don't have a 360 or PS3 so can't play it the now.

From what I can see Sagat is the undisputed top character in the game, you'd imagine that they would have learned by now that Sagat in general is made to be awesome but they never seem to tone him down. But it seems that he's just a shade better than everyone else rather than broken like SFIIIs Yun and Chun-li so its more of an annoyance than anything.

I've heard that online is made up of many Ryu and Kens so probably not going to main Ryu this time. Thinking of mixing it up with a charge character for this game as my main. Bison looks nice, seems to have a good range of tools that aren't ridiculus. EX stomp and scissors stick out especially as being particulary badass, Psycho Crushers seems to be used as a way of escaping from being cornered more than anything.

How well does Gen play? Was looking at him for a while but heard he's not that good.

Just need to get the frigging thing.

Bison's nice, has some properties I didn't expect, like his standing hard kick beats Zangief's chest air if you time it, even if he's practically doing a cross-over, it has a much bigger hitbox than I'd expect.

SOme of his normals are a bit sluggish ( cr.HP anti-air and cr.HK sliding sweep ) but his Scissor Kick is still immense and his air-stomp doubles as an anti-air, not to mention people I've played against can't seem to deal with his Devil Reverse...

Gen's pretty beefy, not broken but a good, strong character. You'd need to watch for his recovery time now on some moves but that's the same for a lot of characters ( 3d models properly animated take a bit longer to recover than sprites apparently, who'd'a'thunk'it  ). His rapid punch special in mantis has decent priority, not to mention keeps them there longer than most of the rapid specials, EX one is especially nasty. Not to mention the game essentially gives it away that you can chain his mantis super ( the air grab ) from the ceiling stomp special. Plus he's got the unknown factor, everyone just plays shoto's and Sagat, so any character without a projectile seems practically ignored, they won't know what hit them.

It might just be me but Dan....doesn't seem shit. Not godly by any means but certainly seems competent compared to what I remember from Alpha and CVS 2.

I bought this game when it came out, actually. The graphics of this game are simply amazing. Load times were slow until I installed it into my harddrive. The networking works really well too. It's just a really good fighting game so far and does not give the 2D classics a bad name in no way at all.

I unlocked a few characters. Rose, Cammy, Dan, and Sakura.

Only characters I play with are Cammy, Sakura, and Ryu online. lol.

Interesting occurence; in my 300 or so ranked matches so far I finally found a Dhalsim player. He was pretty decent but with me being Vega it's not a nice match for him. I just need to fight a Gen player and should be me fought all characters online other than Seth. Feels like a Pokedex quest.

Me and my flat mate have a 360 now so been playing this recently. Lack of variation on the Ranked matches has forced me to go to Player matches instead, its nice when you get 20+ games with a guy ona similar skill level where you both mix it up every match.

I'm enjoying it although I've still got bad habits from my SFIII days. Ryu (When playing Sagat + shotos) and Bison are who I seem to go with most although I do enjoy Gouken, thinking of going into him more seriously. Nice catching people with the back throw > Ultra too.

I really really wanna get this game. My brother-in-law brought it over a few weeks ago and we played it all day. The graphics were good even if they're kinda 2D-ish. I'm actually glad they made it out to be that way. The playability was very smooth, I thought, and it was great to see some new characters although I was more into the old ones. I was a bit disappointed with Fei Long though - somehow I liked his control better in the Sega Genesis than this, but then again I only played him a few times, so it could just be the fact that I sucked that's talking. xD

Anyway, gonna wait until the price go down before I buy the game though.

I've spent a fair part of the last week playing on the newish Championship mode that was made available a few weeks ago and it's brought up mixed feelings for me personally.

While its nice to have a system that works far better than Ranked Matches with no loss on points for losing (which lowers number of disconnects from rage quitters) as well as having tiers for players so it (in theory anyway) allows you to always play against foes of a similar level there is a few things that are still bugging the hell outta me.

I'll still looking to break into G2 (about 400-500 points away) but I've generally noticed one of two things from other people, they're still either Sagat/Ken/Ryu and just play so badly or have no knowledge on how Bison works but I'm getting a higher amount of players who get an early life lead and then turtle as far away from you as possible.

I've actually had people go back into the corner and jump constantly to draw me into their attacks which I've only lost to once or twice to in like 20 of these 'matches' but its getting really boring and tedious now, the lack of losing points with a loss means that these people will eventually grind their way up to the higher levels which sorta defeats the entire point of it in a way which is disappointing.

I've had a some really good matches with a handful of Guiles, Blankas, Balrogs, Cammy's and a random Honda of all things so I'm hoping things will improve later on but it is a pain at times atm.

I'm still using Bison which I'm enjoying a lot these days, still a bit reliant on the Headstomps but I'm doing what I can to mix it up.
