I haven't progressed that far through the game yet, and I don't play it that often. So I've found myself stuck at the point where I'm fighting the Mimic Queen.

The walkthrough says to teach Fran the 'Blizzard' spell, and that's where my problem is. I don't know how to do it. I'm familiar with the strategy on how to defeat the boss, so I don't need help with that. I only need to learn how to teach Fran the Blizzard spell. I'm a complete noob, I know.

I just don't understand the Licence system very well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well hoping that you bought the blizzard spell and that you have dark magic on your license board, that would enable her to learn it. Just gain it on the license board and then you select the spell and the character to learn it. Also with this boss it helps to be at least lv.10

I beat the Mimic Queen easy without using any magic.
I think I was like level 15 or something, though.

Sometimes it just pays to level up a little bit. :wacky:

yes your screwed but not fucked get to about lvl 14-15 and you'll do it with no trouble good thing in this game is to always be alittle bit over lvled

yes they respawn so you can fight on forever only thing is i always do my grinding at the start of the dungeon when your trying to get the lights on becouse there is a vender you can keep going to for supplies

Enemies re-spawn once you enter a new 'area' or two. They may not all re-appear straight away, but backtracking through a cave etc is a sure way to level up.

About purchasing the Blizzard spell, you need to obtain it from a vendor and purchase the license on the grid. Remember when you first entered those dungeons? There's a vendor right there, who told you about the Mimics and them draining the facility's power. He sells the spell, if I recall. If not, well, you've plenty of room to just level up.

Enemies do respawn. It's just a case of backtracking to various rooms and sections to allow them to respawn. I know it would be a rather tedious task, but I also recommend that you go around battling enemies and reach a good enough level to face the boss. If you don't have the Blizzard spell, then that's a bit of a disadvantage - I really don't know if it can be bought in the Barheim Passage but I do remember a merchant there somewhere - but it isn't essential. You're not necessarily screwed at all. Just remember to heal often (the Gambit of casting Cure when Ally HP < 50% would be important in this battle). Potions are also efficient as well.

In the battle as well, I'd suggest you take down the smaller batteries simply to replenish the charges before taking on the Queen herself. Have the Cures and Potions at hand though, because the boss does perform a very damaging attack when you take out 75% of her health.
