Can someone please tell me what this damn Jar does. I am so lost. I just bought it and I am not sure on how to use it.
 
It allows the enemies to drop Arcana. I believe ANY enemies, doesn't matter who.
 
Think of it as prerequisites to getting High Arcana. If you have 10 arcanas and 1 Soul Thamasa, you'll get High Arcana. You can use this to make weapons, including the ever-so-popular...dun dun dun...Tournesol! :D

Anyway, basically arcana is a required item in some of the combinations of items to unlock bazaar items.
 
If you are not at the end of the game. As in beat the boss, saved the world, knocked up Penelo end of the game... go back to a previous savepoint before you bought the Canopic Jar. It does allow you to get arcana, as Mitsuki said. However, it gives you way too much of it. You can't sell that crap for any amount of money and it drops it like crazy. I had such a hard time getting any money after I purchased that thing. Seriously, wait til the end of the game to even worry about buying it.
 
I've already beat the game and all. lol. Now I am trying to get weapons and Espers.

Thanks for the Info. =D. Although I have a hard time getting items to get those damn special weapons in the Bazaar.

Well I mean...if it drops a lot and you cant sell it for money cant you just make weapons out of the shit and then sell those weapons for money?
 
Then what do you do with them...keep them in your inventory so you can admire them every once in a while?
 
I keep them in my inventory just in case I needed them. haha.

Like for the King Behemoth battle I used Long Range Weapons, Staffs, and Swords. I like to keep a variety in my options.
 
Well cant you at least like sell the multiples and the low level weapons! That should get you a decent amount of money if you sell them all.

I'd recommend not getting it though until you have the items you'd like from rare creatures that drop such items as "Ribbon" and other junk.

Aztec got the Canopic Jar way too early and he's screwed over at times when he goes to pick up a rare drop.
 
I have plenty of money. haha. All my low level weapos ARE gone. Money is not the issue. I just needed to know what the hell this expensive jar was for.
 
It allows enemies to drop arcana and high arcana which are essential for the tournesol sword
 
I don't think it does, all it does is add another percentages drop chance of you getting an arcana or high arcana

the percentages don't add up to 100% its just accumulative
