Bully (Canis Canem Edit)

Ive been tempted to purchase it for sometime. But it has recieved some bad press, typical of Rock Star. The thought of bullying people in a game doesnt seem like fun or entertainment, specially when bullying has increaed in schools.

I've not played it yet but people got the wrong impression by the title of the game (I guess that's why it is called Canis Canem Edit in the PAL version). It's not like you are just some punk who goes around and picks on people but you bully the bully's. I even noticed this at Wikipedia:
Despite the name, the overall objective of the game has very little to do with bullying other students, though the protagonist can be made to do so if the player wishes. The overall game is far more about guiding the main character, 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins, through a series of conflicts with Bullworth Academy's real bullying elements, which consist of several unpleasant cliques and a junior psychopath named Gary who wants to take over the school.

Just sounds like a typical Sandbox game except it involves teenagers. Games like these are often get bad press but that usually wants me to buy the game more. It's funny how that works. ^_^
 
one thing i hate is that jimmy hopkins is trying to bring order and some form of justice to the school when almost every mission involves you beating the shit out of someone so i am wondering how he expects to acieve a non bully environment when he is going around beating up anyone who goes against his rule

yea but ffguy the name of the game is bully which means you would go around beating up kids its basically the young version of GTA past gta3 the missions are fun but there isnt alot of clothes to choose from and the story line makes no sense
 
It's a good game, yeah, but I never brought myself round to finishing it...got on to the fourth chapter and stopped. I don't know whether it's because it wasn't as good as the GTA's, or it's just because the whole GTA formula has got really boring.
 
This is the best game from Rockstar I've ever played. I just go around bullying the hell out of the nerds, and preppies any way I can. I wouldn't ever do any of this stuff in real life mind you, but it's really fun to take out your rage on the school. I even gave a teacher a swirly once, which I thought was just plain impossible.

I then noticed my stats. My missed classes, detention, punches thrown, and bottoms pinched were astronomical! I was a real bad-ass to say the least.
 
Being a bully yourself is what makes the game fun. I just go into the dorm, tackle a nerd, and pound his face in for no reason at all. Then I give wedgies to a random kid. My wedgie count was through the roof when I looked at my stats.

EDIT: Oh, right, and spitting in peoples faces after you kick their ass is the bee's knees!
 
I found this game to be kinda fun while following the storyline but after you beat the game it gets a little boring.

Yeah, I found little point in playing after the game is finished. I should've saved near the end though, because the song that plays during the ending credits is bitchin' awesome.
 
Yeah I should have kept a save from winter so that I could keep having snowball fights. I should have also kept one from halloween night.
 
My favorite character is Russel. I never expected him to turn out to be an ally. I mean, he almost tried to kill Jimmy.

Yeah he is a good character to recruit to go fight random bullies or the football team. I sometimes play the game to play dodgeball.
