I'd prefer Martin Campbell back. Casino Royale was the best James Bond Movie for a very long time, and I quite enjoyed Golden Eye too. I liked Road to Perdition but I've not seen anything else Sam Mendes has directed.
I suppose the film will continue where the last oe finished, with James Bond trying to destroy Quantum.

Jarhead was quite good and so was what I remember of Road to Perdition, so I'm looking forward to Mendes directing the next one, if he does.
It's highly likely that the next one will be a direct sequel, although I'd rather it wasn't. There's potential in the Quantum Organisation storyline if they take it in the same sort of direction as SPECTRE, but the films are becoming more and more Hollywood orientated now so that probably won't happen. ):
