is it bad that i lost the first blitzball game? i am struggling to understand the key to winning. i am new to FF, i got FFX as my first one. and i really like it! but there is alot to grasp i think! also, there is alot of talking scenes. do all FF games have alot of talking scenes?

anyway.. HI im emmy

No, it doesn't really affect the gameplay at all.
Losing the first blitzball game, I mean.
It only gives you an extra scene, I believe if you win it.

And yes, there's a lot of talking scenes in all FF's. I through IX don't have the voice acting though.
Hope that helps.

Actaully, if you lose the first match you will miss out on three or four diffrent scenes. Some pretty cool ones at that, but beating the first match is no problem. What you have to do is get the Blitz Ball in the first half and keep passing back and forth between Tidus and any other player. This will ensure you will level up Tidus at the half, if all goes well tidus will learn Sphere Shot. Go ahead and equip this awsome tech, and you should own in the second half.

Winning the first match does not really mean anything. It gives an extra scene and that's it. lol.

Just keep practing at it. You will get the hang of it.

I've played the first match 3 times and only own it on my 2nd playthrough. Funny how that is the only match I've ever lost in Blitzball, mainly because they pull so hard for you to lose. You only have Tidus as a good player, and you lose him halfway through which blows big Donkey Kong.

It's pretty cool though when you do win that first match, so keep trying if you're up for the challenge and want to be a Blitzball Legend.

Well, IF you score one point during the first round when you have Tidus then you can use your defense when wakka comes and hopefully they won't score. haha. I luked up and won one time and got that trophy.

Well I always won simply because of the Jecht Shot. I had it when I got there and kept the ball away from the Goers. After the second half, I put tidus with Jecht Shot. If you lose the first one you lost a Strength Sphere which isnt required at all but it can help alot if you get it especially if you give it to Auron cause he doesnt get any strength for quite some time. Blitzball is really easy once you figure out your strategy. What I do is level everybody up but especially Tidus by giving him the ball and letting him make all the shots, that way, by the time you are arouhnd level 20 with everybody else, your Tidus will be around lvl 34, thus making him almighty at Blitz and he will be able to do everything, and you can still level everybody up at the same time. thats how I do it. Also, make sure you know how to pass and your limits with breaking to people. There is a huge random factor when you break to people, so you have to make sure you know what you're doing, because if you get hit and lose the ball it can cause all sorts of problems. Also, make sure you get several skills for your people. I always make sure my front offense men, (Tidus, your midman, and your other out"spherer") have attack skills, because thye naturally have low attack levels, I give Tidus and my other outter man Wither Shot 2, and Letty or your midman anykind of attack skill so they can stop anybody who gets the ball. Ive written alot if you need help you can ask me I never lose a Blitz game and I still have all original Aurochs members.

You only have Tidus as a good player, and you lose him halfway through which blows big Donkey Kong.
I actually preferred Wakka to Tidus. Venom Shot was a nice addition to his already-high Shot value. Tidus just seemed a little too unreliable for me. Plus, you could use Venom Shot a lot more. :P

Anyway, there's not really any great reason to beat the Goers in your first match. I don't think the developers should have thrown the player in the deep end so suddenly, but it's not a challenging match if you know what you're doing. I stuck with luring the defenders away with the mid-fielder, then fire away with an easy shot. I only lost this match once though. I like winning. :monster:
