Multiple Platforms Blazblue II Continuum Shift

Going by what I've heard of the balancing that's been done:
Rachel, Arakune and Nu ( Alpha ) got nerfed pretty bad, especially Rachel.
Tager, Hakumen and Bang have been beefed up significantly.

I greatly approve of these revelations.

From what I gather there's only two new character slots, which would have Hazama and Tsubaki be the only two. But hopefully there's still work to be done, or they'll just do what they did with GGXX ( have Kliff, Robo and Justice inside the main circle ), 'cos I'm hoping for Juubei to be added.

Well I was really excited for this but only 3 new characters is a downer right now. They should have just put these 3 as dlc jeez. But some characters have new moves and distortion drives so Im sure it will be a good buy.

Plot
The game is set after the events of Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. A few days have passed since the reported raid by Ragna the Bloodedge, The 13th Hierarchical City "Kagutsuchi" forgets to celebrate New Years, as his alleged involvement in the "Mysterious Bombing" and "Huge Pentacle Sightings" becomes the talk of the town. With the Novus Orbis Librarium offering no official explanation, the citizens voice their own theories, exaggerating and spreading rumors like wildfire. The name "Ragna the Bloodedge" is engraved in the minds of the people. Completely indifferent to the state of the city, the silver-haired Grim Reaper grips his massive sword and quietly bides his time—waiting for the chance to achieve his true objective; and then, the enormous "power" that has ensnared the "Grim Reaper" begins to activate...

Gameplay Changes

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift still retains it's traditional 2D fighter feel where two characters participate in a duel on a two dimensional plane. A round is called a "rebel" and one match can consist of one to five "rebels". To win a round, one player must either incapacitate the other by inflicting damage through various attacks to reduce health or by having more remaining health after the clock runs out if the rules of the match has one. However, some mechanics from the previous installment have been changed or completely replaced in the transition. Barrier Burst has been replaced with Break Burst, a similar ability but with different penalties. Break Burst can only be performed twice in a single match, and its second use can only become available if you lose a round. It no longer permanently drains your Barrier Gauge or gives you the "DANGER" penalty. A free unused burst is required for Astral Heats. Bursts have different properties depending on when they are used, as the offensive "Gold Burst" has high bounce and combo-ability and the combos initiated by it can kill while the defensive "Green Burst" will provide invincibility for the entire burst motion at the cost of permanently halving your maximum primer points. All lost primer points will never recover. Guard Libra has been replaced with Guard Primer. Instead of a gauge, Guard Primer relies on a point system where each character has a certain amount of points (e.g. Tager has a maximum of 10 primer points while characters like Carl or Rachel have 4) which are depleted whenever block is broken by specific "guard break" moves that every character has. Primer points regenerate over time. Upon depletion of all points, the character is "Guard Crushed." Barrier can be used to avoid being guard crushed. Astral Heat conditions have been changed. Instead of requiring it to be the final round and the opponent being within 20% health, it now only requires it to be your match point round and your opponent being below 35% health. It still requires 100% heat and now has the additional requirement of a freely available unused Burst.

And of course the limited edition

I'm pretty sure this was old news, like, ages ago.

And that all serious BlazBlue players have LONG since played through the Japanese version (which I thought was a pretty mediocre set of updates to begin with).

It was old news. I just decided to update this thread with all the news.

I didnt really get into blazblue that much at first, but by the looks of it, it would look addicting to anime fans like me. I bet that iron tager will remain unchanged in this one, hes like the only character I take in this game. But I was quite into the series just because of iron tager. But if they said that everyone is balanced then supposedly tager will be the same but weaker.

You realize that Tager was universally considered by competitive gaming groups to be the absolute worst character in the first game?

no i didnt cuz it was like just months that i got into blazblue but I would take steps to see what tager is in the 2nd one, Im not a hardcore blazblue fan, since the story is different I would to see what tager does,I dont only like how he fights,i like his background too.

Renamed and cleaned the thread up a bit. I'm not into fighting games much unless they are a little realistic in a sense. So I won't really have much to comment here.

My boyfriend has it and Im very tempted to borrow it off him. Reminds me of Gulity Gear, which pissed me off no end lol XD

OMG, I love this game!! I can't wait for Continuum Shift to be released. The story from the first game was awesome. Can't wait to seee all the new characters, as well as some of my old favorites. I am interested as to how the story is going to continue :hmmm:

Can't wait for the release :x3:

Ummm Saphire Star its not even out yet lol. You must mean the first one Calmaity Trigger unless your bf has an acrade in his house :lew:

Well I got this game a few days ago /revive. It has a much longer stor than Blazblue Calamity trigger. It is actually really interesting. But just one thing whoever put unlimited Hazama too strong is an idiot. He is to frickin hard sometimes. I lost over 50 times yesterday and came back with revenge using haku men and beat him after 5 losses.
