Like the title implies, what was the best ever field trip you went on?
And the worst? :monster:

Best:
My 4th grade (non-American 4th grade) field trip to the provinces of the Philippines. Quite spectacular, seeing all the mountains, going picnicking at the summit of the plateau that surrounds a volcano.

Taal Volcano link!

Also, we got to see some cool historical sites as well, such as where the revolutionary guerilla army were located; a mansion that housed an early bowling ball rink, and an underground passageway, that due to restrictions, we could not enter.
Started off my historical interest, by the way. ;)

Worst:
Trip to Cal State Fullerton last year. Why was it the worst? It was the only field trip where it rained all day. So we couldn't explore the campus much, we only got to hang out under the buildings, and we couldn't eat outside. How lame.

I think the best field trips I've ever been on was visiting historical places. I live in NY so of course there are historical sightings of were people use to live in the 1700 - 1800.

The best one ever was to Boston, Massachusetts. It was a 3 day field trip. I visited the Salem Witch museum, 1700 buildings, 1700 churches, and I walked around Boston.

Another awesome trip I had when I was in 9th grade, I went to the Metropolitan Museum of art in NYC. My ex-friend and I were suppose to stay in the ancient Egypt section but we walked off. It was my first time there, so I had a blast wandering around.

The worst one....probably the music field trips. I was in 4th grade and I wasn't interested in music at all. Also my field trip to the Bronx Zoo when I was in 1st grade wasn't fun. I didn't see anything because so many people were blocking my view. -_-

Best: 3rd grade. We went to the pumpkin patch. they had a maze. i got lost in the maze and instead of yelling at me they gave me sweet potatoe pie and begged my mom not to sue the patch and the school.

Worst: 8th grade. I was injured and it was my first day back to school and my partner was this stinky chick. She got me so mad that i hauled off and hit her. Got suspended for about 10 days.

Best: I have quite a few. One was when we went to Dana Point beach in California and was studying the tides and such. Then we had a bonfire that night. The other one was the Long Beach Aquarium. I love the sea life. xD

Worst: Whale Watching. We had to ride a small boat and it made me seasick. =/ Luckily, I didn't throw up...but damn I was close. And I don't know why they call it "Whale Watching"...we were just looking for dolphins and sea lions (I think) ... no whales at all.

Best was sixth grade when we went to Camp Kern for three days.

The worst was in the third grade when we went to the water works. That had to be the most boring field trip ever and I would have rather have had class. The worst part about it was, we were walking along these cat walks above these huge open tanks of water. There were no guard rails and the person giving the tour just had to tell us that there were blades swirling around at the bottom of them. I still don't know what my school was thinking when they planned that field trip.

Best : year 12 i went too Kenya and went on game drives where lots of cool stuff happened, like see cheaters and lions and elephants.

Worst: Year 10 i went to the beach on a geography trip and i had to make a poem bout it and fill in a risk assesment.

Lol… My field trips where pretty lame compared to most here.

Best: Was at the end of my 8th grade year. Spent the whole day and evening in downtown Chicago touring the Sears Tower & the Sky Deck, then we went on to the Museum of Science and Industry where we spent the rest of the day and took in an Omnimax show at the end.

Worst: I thing it was 3rd or 4th grade, went on a tour of a grocery store.

Damn, school trips in England can be soooooo broing because there's nothing here!

The best trip had to be in Year 10 when we went to Berlin with my History class... it was THE best, but in February i'm going skiing as a holiday, with school though. Another great one was in Year 5, we went to Liverpool which may not seem grand, but at that age you'd be lucky to go anywhere outside of town for a school trip...

The worst trip was one with my science class. It was free but hell it was boring. People talking about science. Yawn.

Worst: I thing it was 3rd or 4th grade, went on a tour of a grocery store.

LOL! Props to the creativity of the teacher on that one though. "Alright, load up in the bus you little bastards! I need to supplement my groceries and I don't have shit for time today!"

It's been 7 years since I've even been in high school so I don't remember too many of our field trips. Best one I can remember though was also the worst all rolled into one, in the 8th grade. The band and string orchestra got to go to the beach for the day, that was pretty badass. Got to play in the water and everything else you'd expect to be doing at a beach, and over where we parked there were a few grills so if you brought along some coals and lighter fluid you could BBQ up some grub. We ended up lighting the whole side of that grill on fire going overboard with the lighter fluid while cooking up hot dogs.

What made it suck though was that by the end of it we were out in the water boogie-boarding and we didn't realize that while we were out there facing the horizon and waiting for a nice big wave that the current pushed us along the shore until we were in front of a nice huge rock riddled with barnacles. And of course the wave broke right as we were on top of it so me and this other kid got sent to the rocks. He was quick enough to put his board in front of him and land on that and come away unhurt, but I found myself on my hands and knees on top of all the barnacles on that rock so I tore open one of my knees. Got to spend the rest of that day chilling on the sand nursing an injury.
