So I thought I would start a thread like this to get some tips and tricks for GFX design. I'm a little nervous though. It has been a while since I displayed my work like this so I'm hoping for some positive comments and constructive criticism. I typically like gritty or dark stuff with little lighting.

Lets start with this signature I just made:

talonsig.jpg

Darth Talon from the Star Wars: Legacy comics.

Thoughts?

That is a nice signature you got there nice background blended in well and u have a border my only problem is the lighting it hard to see the render the signature is a bit dark for me maybe adding lighting via filter lighting or new layer soft brush with white near the focal and set the layer to overlay but apart from that this is a good signature keep up the work :D

Looks good. I like how it blends well and the colors are good (my personal favorites :gasp:). But as Stevie said, it could do with a light source :P

Thanks. I do like the Red/Black. As for lighting, maybe one day. lol Hmm, I'll try to make my next piece with some more lighting to see how well I can use it.

Thanks again, Drak. LIGHTSABER! :yay:

I think what you need to work is a light source, not an actual lighter sig. For example, the light saber in this piece is where the lighting is coming from so if you were to use a soft brush on there, and set it on white, mess with opacity a little, I think it'd look great. =)

I dunno what program you use, but it's a pretty damn good signature.

I use Photoshop. I just sprung for CS5 so now I don't have to keep using the trial.

And thanks for the comments, Six! I shall keep the light source in mind for my next work.
