I have the running shoes on Zidane at the moment and he's almost mastered auto haste, should i give it to the others to master as well?

I'm at Oeilvert right now, my party is in their 30s also. I haven't played this game in awhile is there anything i should do after this point before continuing on in the story?

I would strongly recommend it. Auto-Haste + Auto-Regen makes your party nigh on unkillable.

As much of Chocobo Hot & Cold as you can do at that point. But uhhh... beyond that... just whatever you feel you need to do.

It's not a must, but your battles will become much easier if you do have them learn it. They will all get more turns and you may need that in some of the upcoming boss battles. It may take some time, though, so maybe you should not stop and learn them, but learn them as you go along.

It may take some time but, i'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. Battles will go a lot more smoothly. Of course you don't need to but it's really useful if you decide to take the time to have everyone learn it (or just have your top 4 learn it for boss battles in the future)
I'd also go back and collect things so you can synthesize your weapons and whatnot before you go deeper into the game. If I remember Oeilvert is in the 3rd disc? Well i'd suggest doing it sometime before you go to defeat Kuja and whatnot in the 4th disc. Other then that, I say do what you wanna do :monster: I'm sure you'll do just fine=)

Actually, I have a question about this. Does Auto-haste/regen wear off, even though you equip your characters with the abilities?

NO. Thats why it is in my opinion important. The only auto- I know that wears off is auto-life. Auto-Haste and Auto-Regen will always be there. They both work well together.

It is like any of the other abilitiesyou can learn: they aren't a must, but they make life in FFIX a lot easier. If your level is high enuogh, you can equip so much abilities that even the boss fights are quite easy.

Auto-haste isn't so much a must as aout-regen. Especially if you don't use Eiko or Dagger. (I use Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, and Amarant) <<Dagger instead of Amarant until I get to Disc 4.

But sometimes battle can seem like a staring-contest, so auto-haste is convenient.

Auto Haste and Auto Regen will be very useful come Disc 4, but i would recommend that you keep a healer waiting in the midst, just in Case!!

Auto-Haste is AMAZING. The battling in FFIX is slow, so having the speed increase just makes the game that much more easier, and faster.

Auto-Regen is more of a must. If you use boosted Eidolons when low on health, or decent long-animation spells and abilities, you can heal quite a bit of HP in a short time.

Auto-Life is okay. With Auto-Haste and Auto-Regen your party is near-invincible. With Auto-Life you just bump up that little bit more, and become even closer to immortal. Auto-Life makes Yans easier, for sure.

Auto-Reflect is useless.

Auto-Haste, Auto-Regen and Auto-Reflect are my prime three must learn abilities. As mentioned before, Haste+Regen, combined with use of summons or skills that eat up some time when being used pretty much does away with the need for potions. or healing spells. Auto-Reflect is perfect on bosses that like to cast spells a lot (Especially the boss in Kuja's mansion where all it does is cast reflectable spells) I keep elixers on hand for the truly damaging physical attacks or other attacks that can get past reflect, but mostly I rely on the haste-regen auto abilities. Auto-potion is good for early on in the game until you get Freya and have her use Reis's Wind.
