So, what's your thoughts about the augments implemented in the game? I find them rather neat actually. I've missed a few augments due to me not having the guide yet, but after I did get the guide, I have been following what it says and giving them accordingly to certain characters.

I'd have to say that my favorite augments are Draw Attacks and Counter which I gave both to Cecil. Extremely useful. I wish I could've gotten DualCast but I missed the opportunity. >.>

I did not really use augments that much. I just used counter and level lust. Level lust was a big factor on how I leveled up so fast. I found that one near the end of the game.

I have some questions about augments. I just got the auto-potion one (yes very early game still) and i'm wondering.. in IX having auto-potion means using a potion every time you get hit. But that seems a bit much. What does it mean in this game? Can you disable the augments? Does it use up your potions? On which character is it most useful?
I hope someone can answer these questions soon.

Yes, auto-potion in this game means that you use potions every time you get hit. You can disable the augment simply by not equipping it to a character. I believe each characters can hold up to 3 or 4 augments, and you can equip a few at a time.

In the guide, it suggests that you give the auto-potion to someone who won't stick around in the party, which is either Palom or Porom. I made the mistake of giving it to Cecil, which really irked me because now he has 3 or 4 augments so I can't give him any other augments. Auto-potion is a useless augment, really. The main purpose for augments is so that when you assign at least 2 augments to a character and that said character leaves the party for some reason later, you will then receive new powerful ones in return depending on the number of augments you gave that character early on.

For instance:

Let's say I gave Tellah the Auto-Potion and Curse Augment. When he leaves the party later in the game, I will then get the "Fast Talker" and "Last Stand" augments. If I didn't give him at least 2 augments, then I wouldn't get the Fast Talk and Last Stand Augments in return.

It doesn't matter which augments you assign to a character, just as long as you give them at least 2. Of course, it's good to plan and decide which augments are best for each character, but that's when the guide comes in. xD

i found the augments quite useful so far. At the moment, i really only use 2 augments, bardsong and analyze, i gave them both to Cecil. had to get rid of cover, but not that much of a loss in my opinion.

I don't have a guide so i wouldn't know.
But thanks for the answers. I kind of know what to do now.

I missed loads of augments, Il have to replay it. I forgot to draw darkness from Odin, I missed getting the one from Yang and the one you get after PAlom and Porom petrify themselves, and I think yu can get one from Zeromus aswel? Ugh, I can't believe how many I missed xD

About the only one I manged to get of any use was blooody counter.

For me, the augments served their purpose.

I use the Level Lust and Bard song augments most, both on Cecil. The song I use the most is Life Song, I think that is what it is called. The hardest part about augments, though, is that when you get the Level Lust augment, there is only one, so you have to choose who to give it to.

I find the Augments to be extremely useful especially Counter, Dualcast, and Cry. These became such a lifesaver for me and made most of the battles easier to swing by with as well. I also do enjoy using Bardsong because of the effects of Life's Anthem which casts Regen on the whole party and for some of the status effect of Silence and Pig you can cast on your enemies. Safe Travel is also good to have when you don't to get stuck in random battle encounters just to get from point A to point B.

Yeah I missed a whole loty of augments but I got the one from Yang and darkness from Odin. Yeah I gave both counter and draw attacks to cecil because my cecil is so powerful with the ragnarok blade. Theres one from Zeromus? I beat him and did not know. I have the limit break augment though. I also missed dualcast which sucks for me.

There is no augment from Zeromus, unless you consider the game end reward of Limit Break to be from him, but unlike Darkness from Odin, it does not need to be stolen from him.

For me, one of the best augments ever is ????'s love I named it Rosa, for a very obvious reason, gave it to Cecil, and had 99 quick battles with a friend (Hit A every so often while you do something else if you can't be arsed to pay attention.) Cecil now has a base attack of 99+ whatever sword you have, + his STR, + whatever else you have to boost it.

Add Limit break and an Onion Sword to that, Cecil can start one shotting bosses as soon as he turns Paladin and gains more than 6 levels (which you should do before fighting Scarmi anyways)

Dualcast kicks ass, yes, but you only need two of those. Omnicasting is similarly kickass, but only Rosa really needs that one.

I got auto-potion,Counter, and two twincasts which are all so useless except from Counter which i gave to Cecil. If i have Kain and the augment cry, I'd like to imagine...
