New addition to the Evil dead series which for years now has been only a trilogy. We all know about the Evil Dead remake and how close Bruce Campbell is involved with it. So not only a remake of the original evil dead but Sam Raimi has announced that him and his brother are working on a script for a sequel to Army of Darkness, aka evil dead 3. Its not gunna have any connection with the remake. Its gunna be a direct sequel to the 3rd film Army of Darkness and Bruce Campbell will of course come back as Ash. Rumours are that Campbell is 100% up for returning as Ash. The master of one liners. Gimme some sugar babehhh. Besides it wouldnt be a sequel without Bruce Campbell as Ash with his Boomstick and his chainsaw arm. Or his stump arm, either way hes awesome.
Ive always thought that as great of trilogy as it is that there needed to be one more film. I wont spoil for those who havent seen it but the end of Army of Darkness leaves the story at a strange end. It never felt finished to me. Always loved How Evil Dead was intentionally made to look really cheesy and low budget (which it was) but it really worked and blended in the comedy and horror perfectly. Now hes gunna have a much bigger budget for this movie itl be interesting. When you give someone as creative as Sam Raimi a lot of money to make a film its gunna be awesome. Im thinking of a gorefest like Peter Jackson's Braindead.
Dont know when this film will start filming. Hopefully he can make a start this year and wel get a rough estimate of a release date later on.
Theres loads of articles about it so go google Army of Darkness 2 and you can read all for yourself. Il link one i read earlier below anyway.
And for those of you who have not seen the Evil Dead film get the fuck out there and buy them all. Evil Dead 2 is my personal favourite as thats when Bruce Campbell starts to shine as the main character Ash. Its the film that turns him from quite a polite, well mannered employee of the month to a crazy chainsaw wielding lunatic who grinds up the living dead left and right. Army of Darkness was my 2nd favourite film, it had some great comedy moments and his battle in the pit at the castle with zombie is one of my favourite scenes and the whole Evil Ash thing it has going on. Usually the first films of a series are the best but for me The Evil Dead is one of those very rare exceptions. Cant wait to hear more about the sequel
Bruce Campbell is a brilliant actor and hes the only on who could ever play Ash. Hes one of those actors that is brilliant at playing a crazy madman. you could never replace him. The Evil Deads greatness is due a big part to how good of Actor Campbell is.
