Are Phoenix Downs Cheap?

Phoenix Downs are not really the cheapest thing in the world and you can't really blame it cuz it like revives your character and its rare especially in CC where you simply can't buy the thing the only to get it if either finding it or you summon Phoenix and you automatically have Phoenix Down on you
 
Pheonix Downs only revive a character with critical health and their ATB meter at minimum.

If anything, it's not cheap enough.
 
In some games, the amount of HP they restore after they revive you can be very inconvenient. Where it revives you, just so you die right away. But considering their price in shops, and the fact that they can found in many places, and that they can be used repeatedly, they aren't as cheap as they seem, to a degree.
 
I hardly ever even use Phoenix Downs to be honest. I buy a few and use those in the beginning until somebody in the party gets cure magic. Then I buy 99 Phoenix Downs when I get enough gil. I keep those as a "just in case I run out of MP" backup. I don't think it's cheap to use them. There are some mean monsters out there, we might not be able to survive some battles without Phoenix Downs.
